  3. Hi guys I'm in the same boat. My paperwork was submitted to Federal BCBS of Kansas City on Wed. the 14. My insurance case manager at my surgeon's office told to expect a 2 week wait, but Stephany you are right the insurance people would know before your surgeon's office so what not start calling to find out. GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE!!!! Deb

  5. Hi guys. I remember when I first became interested in having WLS, especially the sleeve since I had never heard of it before, the first place I went to was YouTube. Man..... oh man hundreds of videos on weight loss surgeries. People describing their weight loss victories and seeing them week after week shrinking before your eyes. It was very inspiring and motivational to me. I thought I want to be someone's motivation when I have my surgery. I'm going to document with video from the hospital to goal weight on YouTube. I got to thinking maybe some people on here might have some videos on YouTube that I can subscribe to and other people on here as well might be interested in viewing them too. Please speak up so we all can be more motivated. Thanks, Deb
  6. Hey Iowagirl. I have Federal BCBS of Kansas City. I have a question. What was the timeframe from the surgeon's office submitting the paperwork till you getting your letter? My insurance case manager from my surgeon's office submitted the necessity letter on Wednesday the 14th and I was wondering how long it took to get approved. Thanks. Deb

  19. Sawree, but my dietician advised us to consume ONLY protein drinks that are 100% Whey protein isolate. Avoid collagen-based drinks. Just look on the label it will probably be listed as the third ingredient if it has collagen in it. She told us the collagen was not as healthy for us. She also wants us to drink protein with calories less than 200 per scoop, protein at least 20 and carb MUST be less than 6 grams per scoop. My dietician gave us a list of available websites to purchase samples. Here are two. Unjury.com and Bariatriceating.com plus she said do not want us buy large amounts before surgery because more than likely your tastebuds are going change, so what you like before surgery you might like after. Again this is what my nut said. Yours might be a little different. The drink u bought tho definately has waaay to many carbs. Hope this helps. Deb
  20. Best wishes and I hope everything turns out OK for you. Good luck.

  23. Hello........ Merriam KS is in the house. I know Kansas1973 and SarahD. Also I just recently contacted Norma. Hello JackiezMom and KathyM. My surgeon is also Dr. Hoehn. He's a little hottie. (LOL). As of Thursday I have finished all of my requirements, so Dr. Hoehn's office should be submitting the paperwork to my insurance anyday. I'm hoping for a early to mid August surgery date. Let's hope we all get what we deserve. GOOD HEALTH AND A SLAMMING BODY. Lol. Deb
