  1. Ashley, Your doing great! Those are great NSVs!
  2. So happy for you. You did it!!!
  3. This may not be a popular reply but that is ok...In my opinion, in society today people throw away marriages any time they want. There is this thought that if you are unhappy it must be because of your spouse and you should maybe try a few things but if that doesnt work its ok to get a divorce. I am so frustrated with the throw away marriages in our culture. Marriage takes gobbs of work. Constantly. You will fall out of like with your spouse and it will be up to you to change that. If you think you will find that perfect person who will please you and excite you 100% of the time you are crazy...they dont exist. And one reason is because you change too. I pray you do whatever it takes to fight for your marriage and that you and your husband work together to make it a happy life for both of you! I just wanted to encourage you that you can get through this and come out on the other side with a better marriage!
  4. Felicityand Alovio~praying for you now...remember to get up out of that bed as soon as you can and walk, walk, walk-especially if you dont feel like it!
  5. What kind of clothes get you through? Baggy ones:) I started at size 20. I bought a few capris at size 16. Then a couple of skirts and shirts at 14. Then I spent about $100 at size 10 because I thought I would be there for a while but I was blessed with shorts and shirts at size 8 and 6 from a friend. Then settled at size 4 and have bought only what I can find on sale and still wear 6's that were given to me. I tried on clothes constantly but just didnt buy. I am a stay at home mom bu t I do have to be dressed up for church every Tuesday and Sunday. I just didnt sweat how I looked knowing that it was only temporary and then when I hit goal I would get to buy nice clothes a lot cheaper! I tried shopping at good will and thrift stores but I dont live in a big city so the selection wasnt there. I definatly recommend this if you live in a city.
  6. Marisa~no body has the right to treat anyone like that. I just want to tell you I am sorry you were treated this way! I know it doesnt make it all go away but I am saying a pray for you right now! blessings
  7. Congratulations, enjoyed reading your story...hope you stick around...I want some vets to help keep me in line down the road and into the furture!
  8. I ran a 5K for the first time ever on 9/11 and I wanted to wear my bib all day:) Love your post...love that someone knows how I felt! Congrats to you...on to a 7K?
  9. Have you spoken with your surgeon?
  10. Thanks for the replies....I am trying to be good with where I am at...just not sure if this is the "sweet spot". I also started running which cause the scale to go up because muscle weighs more.
  11. It has taken me a long time to update my ticker because I got down to 115 but then bounced a bit up to 120 and seem to stay here.Which I felt guilty about. I felt like I did something wrong. But the truth is my hubby thinks I should go up to 130. I am happy with 120! So, here is the question...if you are in maintence, did you get to a low and then bounce a bit?Not back and forth bounces like 5 pound cushion, I am talking about lowest weight and then a weight you seem to have settled at now. I am months 16 out and while I am thrilled at everything this surgery has done for me I thought that I would have less worry at goal but now I find myself worrying that I will regain...Guess I need to just relax:)
  12. Yep, I felt that way too...but it does get better. I found that if I used a small cup (I use the bathroom cups 3ounce-5ounces) at a time it helped me a lot. I felt good about one cup at a time. It took me months to get to 64 ounces and just now at 16 months I can get 70 ounces a day. Give it time and take one ounce at a time...
  13. Yes, that sounds familiar...but it kind of settled out when I stopped losing. On another topic... I am moving to Northern Virgina in a couple of months...do you have a group that meets in person? Most likely be living in stafford but looking for homes in Woodbridge too...would love some info on schools in the area from a real life person and not just stats on line. If you have any good advice for me I would love it!
  14. I would sit down with him and read through this site...have him go with you to see your dr. I'm willing to bet (not knowing him-but hearing others posts about this same thing) his concerns have more to do with fear of things going wrong, or changes in you, or even what foods he will have to give up). Ask him to be honest with you about all the things he is thinking. Just keep talking about it!
  15. Thanks...how did I not catch that? It is corrected now.
  16. I am 5'3" and my high weight was 226.5. I lost over 100 pounds and feel GREAT!
  17. We stay at hampton inns all the time...they almost always serve a protein for breakfast, either eggs, or a meat of some sort. For lunch I often eat at Burger king, grilled in stead of fried like McD's. I sometim es eat a regular taco from del taco. I have fat secret app for my phone...when on the go it is wonderful for figuring out how manycarbs I have had. It helps make a decision for the next meal...OH my absolute favorite place to eat if we are going out to eat is Red robin...all the burgers can be low carb with lettuce instead of bun. I also take a small cooler lunchbox with me if I will be away from home all day and put pb and cheese sticks in it.
  18. At about week 3 I was furious...I actually blamed my husband and felt like he pushed me to have the surgery. I was really moodyand regreted my decision. But I spoke to a friend and got on VST and found out that my hormones were all wacked up because of the dump of estrogen from fat burning happening in my almost starving body. Once I had an answer I was able to deal and just move on. And a week later I apolozied to my husband and he forgave me! Things will get better:) Hang in there.
  19. I threw away all of my old water bottles pre-op. My thinking is that they are a straw and they hold air which you have to such in first so I didnt think I should use them.
  20. Love it! I need to go see my pcm. Last time they said my blood pressure was amazing. Coming from a LONGGGGG line of high blood pressure I kind thought it was a big deal!
  21. Totally my opinion...pickle juice is just vinegar...that would be awefully hard on your little tummy...I would hold off a bit...just my opinion
  22. I just wanted to pop in and say that Mini Mee and Dee are awesome! Thank you for all your honesty!
  23. No idea...curious now...gonna check back in when some others have posted.
