  1. God knew what you were going through and He has been your true friend through all of your trials. He has called you through all of that to get you to where you are right now. He knows where you will be in the future and His plan is GOOD. You no longer have to survive you get to live for Him.. I am sure He is using that very blog to speak to someone today. Thank you for living for HIM. Blessings
  2. I suffered from dizziness for months after surgery and it was ALWAYS worse when I didnt get in enough fluids that day or the day before. Try to increase your fluids and see if you feel better.
  3. I will say a prayer now. Clear liquids means you can see through them. I used protein shakes mixed with water not milk at first. I always recomend buying it from gnc or anywhere they let you return what you do not like. It is expensive and it can add up quickly when spend $35 dollars on protein and hate it.
  4. You look absolutely wonderful! Most people, I think, get to where they want to be and they disapear. You have been here to help everyone else along the way. What a blessing that is. Thank you for all the answered questions for me and all the other thousands of posts!
  5. I had my surgery at a military treatment facility and I was required to take two classes a total of 3 hours I believe. I had to take and pass a test over the material. It was very easy so I wouldnt sweet it. For me the class was over all three surgeries they perform so I had to know stuff about a band and by pass even though I was having a sleeve. I hate that their is an added fee for you:(
  6. I had lots of dreams...mostly of eating or drinking things I shouldnt and using a straw..lol
  7. That is funny:) Pants falling down is definatly a NSV!
  8. I was required to lose 10 and I ended up losing 20...over the course of 6 months...it wasnt all at once during pre-op. We had to lose 10% of excess body weight before they would schedule the surgery.
  9. I remember thinking the same thing when I posted my starting weight! I can't believe I just typed my weight!! Yes, the weight I will NEVER be again!!! But you will never have to type that again (except when you are celebrating how far you've come!)
  10. I had my vsg on December 6, 2010 and I have lost 111.5 pounds. Praise the Lord for the oppurtunity to live a healthy life!
  11. I too only take it 1 time a week. I have always wondered about those taking it everyday...but that is why we have our blood checked right. Good for you, youre taking good care of yourself.
  12. I too am on an ppi. I am taking Nexium two times a day.
  13. I used an app for my phone called fat secret. It is like a journal for all the food you eat. It is pretty awesome. I can even scan the upc code and it will automatically save the food to the journal. It keeps track of your protein, calories, fat grams, carbs etc for you. I think you can use it online if you dont have a smart phone. When I was having trouble keeping track of how much I needed or had already had, I would just look at fat secret and I knew what I needed to eat for my next meal.
  14. I have always had extremely thick curly hair. I started to lose it at 2 months and it was scary at about 4 months. Handfuls each shower. It slowed back to maybe a dozen stands during daily showers at about 8 months. I finally got it cut at about 10 months. It is regrowing but everything about my hair has changed. The texture is different the calics are even different. I suggest you find a stylist you trust and talk to them. I am taking a supplement from GNC called B-beautiful. My stylist says that it is helping, but I am not seeing much change with my hair but my nails look good:)
  15. Yep you got it..get off the scale for atleast a week. It really does play mind games with you IF you let it.
  16. You are really doing great! And like others have said I LOVE YOUR HAIR!!!
  17. Try something else. I had to switch from prilosec to Nexium then I got relief. But for me I was waking up in the middle of the night choking, feel like I couldnt lie down flat, felt sick to my stomach all afternoon. Good luck to you.
  18. I was sleeved on Dec. 6th 2010. I am 1 year ahead of you. I would be happy to help you along anyway I can. Send me messages anytime. Ask ANY questions.
  19. I love turkey meatballs since vsg. I make three meatballs and cover them with a jarred speghetti sauce add a little parm. cheese...Ihad never had them before surgery but havent gone with out them since:)
  20. I have had salmon with out problem but I prefer Talapia. We eat it a couple times a month (atleast). I love to bread it with panko and bake or bake well seasoned and make a little dill dip for it.
  21. Yippie you did it...now walk and sip and you will be in good shape (literally) in no time.
  22. That is so funny...catching on fire:) No more, now you can wear them for years and not have wear between the thighs!
  23. Miters, I am truely sorry that you have suffered this loss. It is such a painful time to go through. I agree that shakes would be a great way to start back on the right track. When I was losing I was on a 600 calorie a day and 30 grams of carbs. I would give yourself some food. I realize some can't lose on this small amount of calories so you need to remember where you settled at. Blessings,
  24. M O M...was sent home with me from the hospital and it did work but OHHHHH it was so HARSH. I only went when I took it so I tried Miralax after I read lots of others used it with success. It was much gentlier and I didnt have such horrible movements . I had to use it for several days to get things going and then occasionally for months. I think it was around month 5 things were regular (but I have always had occasional constipation). Good Luck
  25. You are almost there! I remember the feeling I had before surgery...What a gift I have been given...you will be soon:)
