  1. OOOOps... did it wrong. the last pic should be the second pic... taken end of June last year!!
  2. Hi Stacy, I am just over half way there and I use my before and after pics to keep me motivated, especially when I am in a stall ... I am real slow loser but I am losing... Here goes, hopes this helps... [ this was the day I went in to hospital 2nd July 2010 this was the end of June 10 last week side view!! this is this week at 32 weeks post op, my most recent pic Like I said, I still have a fair bit to go, but when I look back and am pleased with the progress so far... I look forward to sharing goal pics!!
  3. OMG... 305lb... you have lost two people... and then some!! Goodness me, I feel a little ashamed, sat here moaning about not losing and how slow I am losing; you have sorta give me a reality check that I needed... I am well impressed by your amazing success.... CONGRATULATIONS!! =]
  4. Well Done Brian... what a great success story... I love the way your daughter did you photo montage ... how did she do it? =]
  5. Hey Helen, I too am in the UK, South Wales... I didn't attend a support group either, but I do find this site very helpful; all my questions have been answered here! I found the first week and a bit to be the worst, soreness in the incision areas and hard to get comfy to sleep but other than that my recovery was really good. It will get better.... I am nearly 8mths out now, so if there is anything I can help with please give me a shout! Hiya Viv, I am in South Wales too... Shwmai!!!|! Where did you get your sleeve done? Like I said to Helen, if there is anyway I can help, give me a shout! I too am a slow loser, but I am losing and not gaining so I'll take that! It certainly is a rollercoaster ride for me but I am sure once I reach goal it will be more than worth it! Hey Angie,,, how the devil are you... glad to hear you are doing well... and fair play to you for not getting on the scales... I am still addicted to them and the bloody things ain't moving for me at the moment... let me know how it is 'up north'!! Oh, and not long before we see our boys .... yey!!! =]

Swimsuits....hmmmm... still unsure on this one! When I had my sleeve I really thought I would be able to wear a two piece by the summer... however, I don't think I will be at goal by then, and althougth I have lost a fair amount, I don't think my confidence is up enough to wear a two piece yet... My head hasn't recognised my weight loss, and I daily struggle with the fat demons telling me I am still too big, whereas realistically I am only a little bit big now! - does that even make sense...lol =]
  7. Oh God, just read this back.... excuse the typos... headache!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  8. Hello Ladies, So of you might recall that a few weeks ago I posted that I was getting a lot of headaches and hot flushes/flashes... well, I bit the bullet and went to see my doc. He said that I am too young for the menopause, but it is possibly... I am getting a blood test for that and thyroid next week. He said that my headaches, flushes and irregular periods could all be linked and that this MIGHT be the reason why I am a slow loser... I really was hoping that when my weight had decreased that my body would synch itself back to 'normal'! Anyway, to cut a long (and boring) story short, he has perscribed me with a drug called Clondine (Dixarit) to help stop the hot flushes and ease the headaches. I was wondering if anyone else had taken this and how they found it? I have checked the side effects and I am not too sure whether I am happy to taken them or not... Also, if you have taken them, how was your weight loss... did it change, or was there no effect? Any words of wisdom, as ever, greatly received! =]
  9. I don't think this is the easy way out ... it is good to have a tool, doesn't make it easy though. Since Oct (I was sleeved beg July) I am fighting for every pound that I lose, and on times, I am really struggling with it. Without the sleeve, I KNOW for sure I would have given up and gained any weight that I had lost (although, back then it was never more that a lose of 7lb - and that would take many, many weeks and mths)! So, this isn't easy for me... but I also appreciate that we are all different ... =]
  10. Well Done Tiff! Nice to hear good things happening at your stage in the game... gives us all hope! =]
  11. Looks like I am late in on this one... but I just thought I would add that you ARE AN INVESTMENT!!! I too was self pay (UK) and the sleeve has been worth every penny; given me my health back and I am not at goal yet!! Don't let small and bloody minded people ruin your plans... you go for it and enjoy the ride... when have lost some weight, go and tell 'em how much your new clothes cost... just to see the colour drain from their faces!!! =]
  12. Hey, I agree with the others, don't worry! I am in the exact same position, only I am nearly 8mths out! I have a small phase of losing between 5-7lb then nothing for 1-3 weeks... it is a proper pain in the backside, but and it is a big but, I know that the scale will move again albeit eventually. At the beginning of this I really hoped by now, I would have lost a lot more! However, the dream ended and reality kicked in and I am slowly losing,,, but I am still losing! Your scales will move again, your time hasn't come to an end... be kind to yourself, follow your guidelines and you will see results. Keep us posted and good luck. Chin up! =]
  13. Hey Diva, thanks... I need all the luck I can at the moment... I have started to shake things up a little... I think my cals were too low, so I am having a few days of eating, pretty much what I want, then back to the protein and low carb and see if that helps... we are on half term here, so no work (work to do at home in the form of marking though!) so I am away from my usual gym! Gotta try and find the motivation to do something at home!! xx
  14. It is a great feeling when someone important gives you a compliment like that! What a great NSV!! Congrats and a good job! =]

  18. OK... so by the 24th April I will be 6days into my 40th birthday!! Lets hope I reach goal this time... I am still going for it by putting 16lb in 10 weeks... prob a little high for me but I don't care!!!! 21. Hey, I've set my ultimate goal at a bmi of 24.9 just to get into the normal range... but like you I would be happy with it in the twenties...
  22. Well Done... stalls are crap aren't they... best thing about a stall is breaking it... so, well done again on getting to the 180's!!!
  23. Hey, amazing photos, well done on an amazing success, reminds me why I had the sleeve! =]

I know what you are saying regarding the tread mill... I too have started using it a lot more and it is all due to the sleeve! Pre sleeve, I could manage a walk... now I jog,.. one day perhaps, like you, I will run!! Keep up the good work xx
