sounds daft, but I have a bad cold... what meds can I take?
Thanks Chilo... My boy was off school a week or so ago, really poorly! And this seems to be going around our school too... early on in the term for flu but there you are... I just feel incredibly depleted of all energy! My hubby reckons that my immune system is low and that is why I have caught it and am suffering, I haven't had the flu like this for years! I enjoyed some carbs yesterday, a bit of toast... but today I can't think about food!

sounds daft, but I have a bad cold... what meds can I take?
Hello fellow sleevers, I woke up yesterday morning feeling like someone had driven a car over my head... yes I know that sounds dramatic, but it is true. Some might call it man flu, I call it a head cold with a touch of sinus. I have a chronic, non stop headache, chesty cough, dry and sore throat (especially when I eat, drink or talk) and blocked nose that still manages to run! Picture the scene of beauty and health eh????? That doesn't even touch on the tiredness and moods! :sad0: This horrible feeling is really getting me down; for several reasons. Firstly, I have no idea what meds I can take with my new tummy -paracetamol doesn't work with me - so there is no point taking that! Then there is the issue of lack of energy, which is leading to no motivation and the craving of carbs! On top of that, just to make me feel a whole lot better ... NOT ... my monthly cycle is here after an absence of 12 weeks... I just feel like my body is fighting with my mind and doing its best to wind me up and I am getting on my own nerves! ANy words of wisdom would be appreciated...

What is WRONG WITH ME???
. The little victories, my clothes getting too big, having more energy, my knee stopped hurting and the best thing of all, today my 12 yr old daughter and I bought the same outfit, just a sweatshirt and jogging bottoms, she's using hers for a trip to the lakes on monday and I'm using mine for the gym! I thought that she would be embarrased but she actually insisted that we bought the exact same outfit, colour, brand everthing, identical! I haven't felt this good in a long long time! Chilo... that is amazing, I bet you do feel great, as I know I would too... my daughter is 12 too but not sure she would go for this idea (yet)...lol I love NSV like these!!

~*~ WORKOUT Challenges and Chat Thread ~*~
Hey Diva, great thread! I too use fitness as my motivation; I go to the gym in work (basic but free) 1 -2 times a week and go to a Zumba class once a week. If I have the time or energy I also try to do something in the house at the weekend... perhaps the wii fit. On sky there is a fitness chanel and I have recorded some cardio workouts on there that I do. I also count fitness goals as NSV... for example, before the sleeve I could only walk on the treadmill, now I am jogging on there... I walk for a min, the jog for as long as I can, then walk etc... but I am noticing that the jogging is becoming a lot longer in duration and that I can breath!!!! That is a good feeling! My next mini goal is to go swimming with my kids; they both go to a swimming club and enter galas, so they are really strong swimmers (as I used to be)... I have given myself a weight related goal, of which I am three pounds away... so not long to go now! My next weigh related goal is when I lose another 14lb and then my aim is to take up squash again... I find that is a really good exercise for frustration and getting rid of it! My ultimate goal, which I am hoping to achieve in the new year, is to be 'light' enough and strong enough to go boxing training. Both my son and my husband go and it is a fab workout... I will keep you posted!!

hi all!
Hey Leelee, I went to my doctor first, he then refered me via the NHS and I was refused cos I was too healthy and didn't weigh enough, yea righto, I then sourced the surgery privately and had to pay. I don't regret it at all! Go to your doc first and see what they say... I live in Wales and it is a little different here... good luck and let me know what they say! =]

Wow... how high up were you... the view looks amazing and that includes how slim your legs are..lol... well done on your weight loss and achievements to date!!!- three months post op
Hello all... thanks for your kind words... I am starting to feel 'pleased' with myself... I think this is the best tool... at long last I am starting to feel human again!! We are all doing really well and this is what I love about this site... the encouragment! Here is one for you though... how complicated are our bodies...? Last week I lost 1lb and 3 1/2 inches. This week it is 4lb and 1/2 inch!!! How strange is that... but, hey, I ain't complaining!- Naps, and the lack thereof
I agree... it is great to have more energy and no nanna naps, although I find that just lately I have started to burn the candle at both ends, so I might indulge in a little nap out of choice not need..lol- three months post op
Hiya all, ....three months today was my op, and I thought I would put a little update! :thumbup1: I have now lost a total of 34lb and on average that is 11lb a month, which is really good for me. Previously, I struggled to lose 7lbs in three months so despite me being a 'slow' loser, I am still losing...lol I am offically a thrid of the way to goal and that feels great! I am fitter, faster and have more energy; my clothes are lose and I am down a full two dress sizes. I am starting to enjoy life again and this is the whole reason that I had the op done inthe first place. I have given myself little mini goals and that keeps me on track when my weekly weigh in is slow or disappointing; I feel that I need this to keep me motivated and remind me that this is a long journey. I am 3lb away from onederland, and once there I am going to start swimming with my kids! I am getting a lot of positive feedback from friends and work friends (most of which don't know about the op as I chose not to tell them) and I starting to accept these kind words; I suppose my self esteem is improving along with my health! I am fast approaching my 40th birthday, next April, and I would love to be near goal for then... to be able to wear my dream outfit with confidence would be the ultimate birthday present!! Here's to the next three months...CHEERS!!- July Surgeries
Just thought I would give a little update on here... three months exactly today; I weighed and this week...(drum roll please)... I am down 4lbs....yey!! Glad to see that as it sort of makes up for the slow weeks. I took the advice and started to track my food and the first day I noticed that I only ate 535 cals... and that was with 2 hours of exercise... I increased my calorie content, felt much better and had a good weight loss this week. Not sure it will continue at this pace, but thought I would let you all know and thank you for the good advice ... x- Taking my first Zumba class today!!!!
hey Chilo, go for it... it is loads of fun and a real good work out... if I can do it...lol... I am sure you'll love it too... OH and update your ticker...lol xx- Taking my first Zumba class today!!!!
Hey, I've started Zumba ... and yes it is fast, yes it is hard work... but I LOVE IT!!! Really good fun and I build up a huge sweat whilst being able to breath... fantastic!! xx - Yippee!! I'm in Onederland!!
