  1. What an addorable young boy!! And he's lucky too!
  2. Okay, so walking the marina with Chris is on my "list to do this weekend" Did you call Ganser and ask for a closer appointment? I am curious "if" he will give you a fill because the band was so small on your stoma to begin with. You might have a better chance of getting a fill by leaving your appt as is and letting 2 more weeks go by. Shhhhh don't tell anybody "I gained 3 1/2 pounds this week. F!! I am trying to be better! But that 3 1/2 pound took soooo long to get off, and actually I was surprized I had not gained more... How is your progress?
  3. http://www.lapbandtalk.com/showthread.php?t=7959 Here you go, here is a complete list of abreviations, this will help
  4. What was your experience on your first fill? Did you feel restriction?
  5. Shesha: I can only offer advice on the soda thing... The only reason we bandsters can't have soda is that the bubbles in the soda expand our pouch, so long term you can dialate your pouch and end up having to get another band because you have stretched out your pouch to bigger than it was made to be. Good luck, you have done good so far, and I must admit I read most of your posts, you have encouraged me in ways you will never know. So don't let me down now.....
  6. FSC: So the Vitamins are under lock and key now right? motionless and not breathing, how frightening! Glad things turned out the way they did, thank goodness for paramedics and 911!
  7. Chris: If you are interested, I have Sat/Sun off and weather permitting if you want me and DH will meet you at the Marina for a 2 mile dog walk and then let the dogs play at the dog park.
  8. Gailannr: So did you buy some South Beach? Have you tried one yet? What do you think?
  9. So? How did it go? Tell us what your thoughts are....
  10. Becca: I am right there with you! But recently I found South Beach Diet frozen entrees, they are bigger portions and very tasty. I liked Lean Cuisine until I tried these. Drink lots of water too. But I am right there with you, you are not alone, but together maybe we can be stronger.
  11. Tabitha: Have you experienced any pain while eating these forbidden foods? I would think that if your band slipped (that would involve tearing out stiches) you would be in pain and would know, also if your band slipped I would think you would not have any restriction. So from this day forward start thinking about possible consequences.
  12. Purpose: You are way ahead of me, but have you used www.fitday.com to see how many calories you are eating each day and what portion are from fat/carbs/protein etc? I did this and almost choked when I thought I did "really good" one day and I was WAY over on the fitday website.
  13. Sue in Russia (Suzie baby!) cus cus cus that darn Dr. So what is your plan? Gotta have a plan or you will find it more difficult to succeed, because you WILL get through this. South Beach Diet is incredible, so is lots and lots of water. Chips are good too in moderation.... I feel bad for you, I finally convinced my Dr. to give me a fill at 6 weeks and I can't wait, and subsequently I have gained some weight. Good luck and hang in there.
  14. Betty Tell me exactly where you are feeling this pain/tightening. I PM'd you, write me back and lets see if we can figure this out. Have you ever had an anxiety attack before? How old are you? Are you still feeling like you can't breath?
  15. So you did not hear this from me..... Take an egg and softly softly softly softly scramble it and keep it "wet". Take the smallest bites in the whole world and chew like forever until it turns into the size of a piece of sand. The bite sizes should be no more than 1/4 tsp at a time. Shhhhhh our secret! But you did not hear it from me.
  16. Well I know you are going to feel a "connection" with whomever did your presentation tonight. Even though I went with Dr.Kozar and think he is great, if I had to do it all over again I would choose Dr. Ganser. I do know that he has a longer wait list than the other Dr's, but everything I have heard about him from the other people I talk to; I am envious of. Just FYI each Dr. within WBI have a seperate set of their own rules and guidelines, I think they are all excellent Dr's and they are very "pro" for us obese people losing weight to get healthy. I don't think you could choose a better team of Surgeons. I just am partial to Dr. Gansers reputation. However Dr. Kozar did my lapband and he was fantastic, I wish he was a little more leaniant with his rules, and more realistic about the thoughts fat people have about food, and that we just can't say "no" to chocolate cake; even if we tried.
  17. Gail Yes I read you bought 2 grizzlies, I think you are going through the change of life!!!!! YAHOOOOOOO! You go girl!
  18. Gail Nooooooooooooooooooo.... I don't think I ever have experienced being depressed in my life. I am just really vocal about everything in my life. I am not weighing myself until the "fill" appointment and I know I will have gained weight, but understandably I can't do this without my band being full. So it is what it is, I will lose once I hit the "sweet spot".
  19. Gail It is very very very very good to walk as much as you are everyday! That is a huge plus.... Is your DH going with you? Can you tell; (now that you are healed) that you had a hernia?
  20. Gail: So do your clothes just sag on you? What are you eating? I just ate a south beach diet lunch and I love them! I am trying to get back into the swing of things. I ate pizza and french fries and theatre popcorn(which I have not eaten french fries in years) this weekend and I "thinK" I felt full, but I am not sure. Kinda sounds wierd huh but full with the band if VERY different for me feeling full in the old way. I am always on cell or at the office or at home. Were you worried because I had the flu? Or just not on lapband enough.... I went to the movies a few times, I just "had" to see the new releases. Sandra Bullock, Adam Sandler (and I forget the other two guys) (motorcycle movie and a dad and son movie) great actors!
  21. here is a post about tickers: http://www.lapbandtalk.com/get-ticker-your-t16218.html
  22. Call your physician assistant for your surgeon and ask if you can have some thinned out cream of wheat or some yogurt. You are 5 days out and I am betting they may say yes, it is worth a try, tell them how you are feeling and the mental crisis you are in. Seriously call them, all they can say is NO, but they will probably say yes.
  23. RE: SOUTH BEACH FROZEN MEALS:::::: I know we are suppose to eat higher protien, and I like to (when I am "in control") eat preportioned frozen lunches. I got a south beach diet lunch and Protein is 10% or more of overall calories ~ which is really high for the frozen healthy Entrees. So my calories would be 290 and the protein is 30!!!! And the taste is phenominal...

  25. Gail: Everything is going good.... I just eat too much to lose weight and I am counting down the days for my first fill~hopefully it helps.... We went out ot McD for breakfast and I had some restriction on a friggin EGG! I think I just did not chew well enough because I don't have restriction. So I had to get up and take deep breaths and then it was over, but it was very interesting. We went out for a friends birthday party last night and I ate 2 pieces of pizza (maybe 3~ can't remember if it was 2 or 3) and I was full ~ full, that was a first! I think I have been dehydrated for awhile~and I am just NOW getting my hydration back~I had the tummy flu for 4-5 days and maybe now that I am hydrated maybe I have (some) restriction only on some days though. I can't wait for my fill~ and I am positive it will help, and we can get this scale back in the correct direction.
