Okay are you ready? I want to get a great professional pic of my daughter and I together that I will hang up near my fireplace. I want to wear my plaid pants that I remember feeling so good in way back when they fit. I want to go buy a Jessica McClintock dress (does not even have to be real fancy, but it has to be real cute) I want to learn to love to shop; as much as I love to eat chocolate. I want to drive down the street (like sunshine) and have boys stare! I want my daughter to be proud and not embarrassed about me. I THINK I might want to buy a sexy 2 seater car!! I want people to look at me with respect vs. predjidice as a fat person The most prevalent is plaid pants and pic with daughter. Hey thanks for inspiring me to write this, it has been on my mind for awhile...

Gail Great work and I even love the reasons you picked the pictures, I am such a hopeless romantic. OH! Take your daughters to see Because I said so with Diane Keaton, I loved it and took my 15 year old, she liked it because we were together BUT did not like it as much as I liked it.

Chris, That is funny that you mention everybody wants Vista. NOT ME! I was at best buy and they have 2 laptops left with XP on them on clearance. I am looking for desk tops with xp on them and can't find any anywhere, it must be xp to integrate with our inventory mgmt system at work. Red is a no show for the last couple days eh? I ate chinese vegtables Broccolli and cabbage today for dinner. YUM! But I am a huge vegtable eater. I am not a BIG meat eater so atkins was never an option for me. So have you tasted the shakes yet? Why don't you put your laptop on "layaway" or offer a down payment or sort to hold it? Do you use your GPS to locate the snowmobile or do you do geocacheing?

Chris First let me tell you I Love vegtables and salad. I love salad with lots of ranch or thousand island dressing. The lemon dressing on top of lettuce just does not have the same texture as ranch. I have no tricks, but am realizing how much of an emotional eater I am. Which LT are you looking at?

Tickerfactory.com I bet you are on cloud 9. I can remember immediately wanting to schedule vacations after getting the news, I felt like I was finally going to be free and happy and I was walking 10' off the groud. Finally I was going to be successful and normal.

Chris, If you don't find a laptop prior to surgery I will let you use mine, it is about 1 year old but it will do the job for you. Just keep that in the back of your mind so you don't rush into buying something just because you must have something for surgery day. Are you spending the night? I am because of sleep apnea

Gail when you go pass out information on lapband.com so you can talk to all the people that you sat with during the seminar. They will take your picture and get you to sign the necessary paperwork for the surgery. They tell you post op you need to chew chew chew chew chew chew chew chew chew your food before you swallow.

Gail, That support person is a great idea, Chris brought his wife, I brought nobody and they did not have a problem with me not having somebody, but if you husband could go it would be great, or I am 100% totally available for you if you want me there. That is the seminar that I did not like the information presented and I really think your husb should go. It is alot of what COULD happen, and I hate when they tell me what CAN happen.

Chris... Do you ever get hungry on the shakes? I am telling you I have to keep slapping my hand because I am reaching for "stuff" I am not suppose to put in my mouth. Thank god my daughter keeps me accountable, but I sure do make deals with myself; telling myself that "just one" nobody will know.... Do you have any special tricks? I am not "hungry" just not full, know what I mean?

Are you going to get wireless internet or do you think the hosp will have WAN? (i think that is what it is~means you can log on through their internet connection) Are you going to Reno Surgery Ctr. or SCORE?

So at this point does it kinda seem too real? Don't get nervous! on your pre op appointment the dr. will talk calmly to you and tell you this surgery is a cake walk as long as you have followed your liquid diet and lost liver fat

Woo hooo is right!! You just made me smile REALLY BIG! So if you want.... you can have your husband stop by my office and I will give him samples of my powder and you can sample before you buy. I would IF I were you get started immediately, and try towean yourself onto the shakes, replacing a meal at a time. What the heck, you only have FAT to lose!! ha ha March 7th that is fantastic!

baby girl; you are NOT online right now but I would have talked with you regarding anything you wanted just to get your mind off of your pain and being home alone with kids. If you come back online see if I am there and PM me or post and I will talk about whatever you want. Sometimes just talking helps the time fly.

My doctor recommends that we drink 64 oz. of liquid pre and post op as soon as we can which in an 8 hour day would be 8 oz. per hour, which is about 1 can of soup

Ready to lose: I hope this "theory" is helpful. I had an indepth conversation with my dr. and feeling full etc. today. You may not be swollen anymore thus allowing liquid to funnel directly through your pouch and stoma into your lower stomach. This would be a logical answer to exactly what is going on. Which would coincide to exactly what my dr. was explaining to me today on how patients could drink high calorie drinks, never feel full (because they funnel through) and gain weight on the band I hope this settles you down. I after reading your post think this above explaination is logical.

One more thing.... The chicken stock at night makes all the difference to me. Without that I would be grouchy! I am encouraging my husband to eat lean cuisines for dinner with an extra serving of vegtables telling him IF he ate something I really wanted I don't think I could do it. Soooooooo, maybe he might drop some weight too ~he could lose 100 pounds too but is not interested in the band. My daughter is totally complaining about me NOT cooking dinner, she is fit and thin, maybe she will learn to cook for herself. ))))

Red::: Woohoo Monday!!!! Renown.... The nurse (I think I told you already) is a bariatric patient herself and she is sooooooo incredible. Take all your questions to your appointment tomarrow with dr. The pre op appoint is just a last minute question and answer period one on one with your doctor. You will get weighed! This is sooooo cool!

Okay so this is going to let you in on what a big WUS I am. I went to see Dr. Kozar today, (he is such an awesome guy!~and handles my concerns perfectly and spends as much time with me as I want) Anyhow, he was late for my appt cause he was stuck on th 395 fwy accident, and he was chewing out a banding patient that he just banded because he KNEW once he poked the first prog in her abdomin that she cheated like hell on her diet, thus putting her surgery at a higher risk than what he likes. Then the gastric bypass patient before me had gained weight because she was eating chips and pizza and drinking soda's etc. It was interesting to let him digress and vent his frustrations on how people can do this to themselves after he gives them the magic tool that is so easy to help us lose weight. "I am telling you this conversation lasted 5+ minutes" on how this lapband is easy and it is an incredible gift and he has all the confidence in the world that his patients should lose 100% of their excess weight. His office has the ability to make us not hungry and we only have to make sure we put quality food in our mouth and when we are hungry, his office will do a fill (simply put). I told him I typically throw up when I get nervous or upset and he gave me a prescription to calm my nerves which I can take 24 hours before and the night before. I am such a control freak I asked him who would be assisting in surgery because I now understand there is a surgeon and then typically another dr. from our same office! Woohoo we all are getting a double expert doing our bands. I also asked if I could go to Disneyland 16 days post op and he said YES! without any concern! Let me tell you what a pick me up talk. And he had no idea until we were almost done with our appointment that just 24 hrs earlier I was so down. I told him I wanted to be his poster lapband girl and he told me he EXPECTED me to be that successful, I love his confidence!!!
