  1. Congratulations on your weight loss, and thank you for taking the time to share your success! When you think about how long it takes to put all that weight on, it doesn't seem like 17 months is a very long time to get back down to a healthy, normal weight... so I think you did just awesome! Mine still remains to be seen... I will have my surgery date on Monday! Exciting stuff! Thanks again for sharing!
  2. For two days I've been browsing around reading blogs and stories. Your entry is more than a month old, but it was the first one that made me hit the "comment" button to say thanks for sharing! Congratulations to you for meeting goals and appreciating those non scale victories! I'm going to get my surgery date on Monday, and I'm so excited I could scream! My five year old grandson weighs 44 pounds, and I've been saying for a month now that I can't wait to reach that 44 pound mark so that I will be able to pick him up and know what 44 pounds released from this body feels like when it's all packaged up in a little boy! lol I'm glad you shared here! Keep up the good fight!
  3. Same for me. I had my stress test last week, and a cardiologist was there the entire time. He let me know immediately that I was fine and cleared for surgery. I have a defibrillator implanted, and they were just covering their asses I suppose! At any rate.. it's all good! And you only have to walk on that treadmill.. they are just trying to get your heart rate up to a certain spot.. and then they want to take pictures while it's still up there to make sure your heart muscles are doing what they are supposed to be doing!
  4. Hahah.. this reminds me of a bumper sticker I recently saw that said: Why is it that those who know the least, always seem to know it the loudest?!
  5. Thank you everyone! It feels awesome to be here!
  6. LMAO! So true! I've told my family, and my best friend. I haven't made up my mind whether or not to be open about it with everyone yet.. this thread kind of makes me think not.
  7. I don't have my date yet.. but was told yesterday afternoon that it would be in April I have a psychiatric evaluation on the 23rd of this month, and the scheduling angel told me that if the psychiatrist would call her with a verbal clearance on that day she would schedule me on April's calendar! So...... hopefully in two weeks I will be able to say I have my April surgery day too SO excited!
  8. Hello. I've been spending the morning looking around for a good support forum to join, and found you all recommended in some blogs that I've started reading. I had actually found this forum last month when I first began looking but hadn't posted yet.. today seems like a good day to start! I'm an unbanded chick.... who will be getting my surgery date on the 23rd of this month right after my Psychiatric evaluation is done. They promised! lol So, I figured now is as good a time as any to get wrapped up in a forum, and start figuring this new life out! Happy Thursday
