  1. someone was looking a few weeks ago for these sizes. Let me see if I can find her post.
  2. I hate paying $150 each time!
  3. Look at all the IV fluids that were pumped into you. It's normal to gain a few pounds after the surgery. And what the heck are you doing housewoek after 3 days?!!!!
  4. switch things up. Do something different for exercise and also switch up your food intake. Do you track your calories? Sometimes if you eat more one day and then down another that can help.
  5. My dr gave me asupport band to wear around my abdomen. I think it really helped to hold everything in place.
  6. I don't think you are eating too much volume if on some days you are only eating 600 calories. That may be too low and you need to up it. I can eat more than a cup of food also. I don't really measure my whole meal in volume. I weigh 3 ounces protein and eat as many veggies as I like. I do measure out 1/4 to 1/2 cup of mashed potaotes, 1/3 cup corn or eat a golf ball size baked potatoe. As for yogurt, I eat a small container and top it with 1/2 cup kashi go lean crunch cereal and a few cut up strawberries for breakfast. I have 6.85 in my 10 band and still feel like I can eat anything. I have been struggling with the same couple of pounds up and down too since last month. It's still a learning process for me too! Good luck to you.
  7. Call you doctor. You should be able to get ahold of someone at his office. You don't want to suffer all weekend long with worry! I hope you are feeling better soon.
  8. most definitley! If you have struggled with your weight in the past, I would do it.
  9. Just do it, who cares about what anyone else says. Look around for doctors in your area that offer weekly support group meetings for their patients. Mine does and I go to them often. I also had a 6 week emotional eating group too with a psychologist at the office. We finished that last April yet my group continues to meet on a monthly basis. I was like you before too, avoided mirrors, avoided pictures, now I can't get in enough of them....LOL!! Sorry about your son and aunt, that is tough and I know how it is to go for food under those circumstances, happy or sad I would want to eat. It still happens now, emotional eating is a tough one to overcome. BUt if you have your husband's support, that is all that really matters. Go for it, start looking around for a dr who will be a good fit for you. You owe it to yourself, you are worth it.
  10. start out by walking, it is the easiest thing to do.
  11. I put 1 packet of Truvia in the yogurt and it makes it taste better.
  12. wow, where did you go for your surgery and your fills? $5010 for a fill with fluoroscope? That is highway robbery!!!
  13. Judy, it's never too late to get healthy! My good friend who I met at our preop visit turns 65 this summer. We both had our surgery in Feb 2011 and both are down about 80 pounds. Good luck to you.
  14. Sounds like you have definite reasons to take him to court. I am far from one who thinks thats the answer for most things. But he is not acting in an ethical manner. Better to step up and prevent him from doing this to someone else. You are close to Mexico and so many people have loved their surgeons down there, maybe that could be an option for you. As for Dr Oliak, he wont see patient's if he hadn't done the original surgery. I asked him in regards to 2 friends who have had problems with their bands and doctors. He was my surgeon too. I love his office!
  15. How much did he charge you for a fill?
  16. ah, big hugs coming at you! Hang in there, it will get better! Weight shouldn't be something that brings us down, it's not what defines us as a person really. But for some stupid reason it does for many people. I honestly didn't think it really affected me before my weightloss surgery but now that I have lost a few lbs I do feel so much better about myself. It has changed my realtionship with my hubby for the better, I enjoy doing things that I avoided before. I still scream and yell at my kids about school work, etc....I wish that part would change! Maybe after today's one hour meeting with my boy's counselor and that will change too! Best wishes to you. Keep the faith and know that everyone is here for your support.
  17. My last fill was .1 and before that .25. I will never go higher than that either for myself. I'd rather pay $150 each time for a tiny fill instead of going through being tight again. I have had to have 2 unfills and they were not pleasant experiences leading up to them! I have an upper GI scheduled for Monday just to see how tight or open I am.
  18. OMG, the mini chocolate donuts! My husband had started eating those about 2 months ago. Well, I tried one, then another and bam I would eat 2 or 3 at a time. It was a Monday and said to him in the morning, "I need to do good today". He said he thought I did good with carbs all weekend and I said no that it was his damn chocolate donuts of his that I was sneaking! Needless to say, he told me not to buy them anymore and I gave the brand new bag to my walking buddy for her kids right then and there!! No more donuts, no more temptations! You are a great success story, I wish you continued success to get to your goal.
  19. 48 pounds is awesome! Just think what your weight could possibly be today had you not had the surgery! That's what I was constantly telling myself when I was frustrated at my slow beginning too! But one year out and I am happy. You will get there, it's not a race, it's not a competition!
  20. I was told 1 cup of food. Sometimes my food is more, sometimes it is less.
  21. way to go Jennifer! Congrats to you!
  22. At 4 months I was 33.5, just checked my journal. Some months I had 8 pounds lost and others as low as 4 and now nothing this past month. It will come off, it takes time. After one year I am down 83 pounds. You are doing great! As for if you need a fill....is a small amount of food keeping you statisfied and are you able to go about 4 hours before you are hungry again? Are you getting any foods stuck? If you answered no, then I would go in for a fill.
  23. wow, $45,000 for your surgery? Where did you have it done? Iwas self pay and mine was $14,000.
  24. My dr told me that it is ok to drink a small sip and wait as you would if taking a bite of food. don't drink much with my meals, but I usually do with dinner.
