  1. Mine is with my 2 girls. And I haven't been 21 in 24 years, no where near sknny since well forever
  2. I tried to keep it a secret, but after surgery a whole lot more people know. My husband slipped and let a few people know that I wanted to tell people myself. I did not go thru having a lot of people say why are you doing this its the easy way out. Now I do not really care but I am also not putting up a billboard.
  3. I could always lose some weight, but not enough to be at goal. I could lose 20-50lbs but still be there with another 50-70 to go. Diets were never successful enough for me. I need the forced portion control. I need the forced follow up appointments. It will always be a struggle but I have a tool that is forever a part of me.
  4. I think the only way to tell is to look at the actual policy. I have blue cross and have one set of requirements, where others have had other requirements. Will your HR dept let you see them. As far a preop, a lot of that is for the surgeon to know about you, what may be a problem during surgery. Where you have had bariatric, then some stuff may not be needed now. There are often vague statements in policies that give the option for the surgeon to order what he thinks is needed. Something along the line of Surgeon has determined the patient is a good surgical risk. How the surgeon determines that is up to them.
  5. I have no prep diet. Nothing after 11pm tonight. I have been eating high protein and low carb so I have lost about 25lbs since making a decision.
  6. I have been having the same problem all of a sudden, knee pain at night sucks. Keeps me up. I hope after surgery the knee pain resolves. I tell myself even if it doesn't at least I will have an easier time if I end up going the surgery route for that.
  7. I am having surgery tomorrow. What are things you would want to be able to tell your family about recovery? Is there a day buyer's remorse peaked, hormone changes, etc? I am excited and scared at the same time.
  8. Wow. My surgeon's office took all the info on my insurance and told me what my payment will be provided I stayed in network. I even called and confirmed, for myself, I would not have had the surgery without knowing that info. Medical care is expensive. Hopefully with the appeal they will cover some more of it. Good Luck
  9. They didn't tell you how little they would pay? That has to be frustrating? I was told I had no coverage if I went out of network. We're there no local surgeons? What is done is done, just pay as you can.
  10. I am having Pettine in Fort Collins. I live in Berthoud, for several hours yesterday, I couldn't have even made it to Loveland. As of now, I can. However rain is moving in again and it is supposed to rain all day tomorrow.
  11. I am scheduled for Monday. At this moment I can make it to the hospital, but with this newest round of rain coming, I am hoping no more roads close around me.
  12. Are you ready.. down to just over a week for you. I am hoping the roads do not flood again.
  13. Congrats Great job
  14. I hate the sweet taste too. I am surprised at that as I usually love sweets. Have you tried the unjury chicken flavored or unflavored powder in soups.
  15. Very cool. I agree with your kids.
  16. At this moment there are a few roads open to get to the hospital, however there is more flooding predicted for Sat Night. I talked to the Dr and and as long as I can get there, it is on as scheduled. So we will see what time brings. Sadly school is canceled for Monday so that makes things a bit more complicated, I am working on that though. What a roller coaster ride
  17. I agree with Gamergirl. Stink eye coming from over here too
  18. Ask your Dr. Mine said it is fine to swallow if you can but others prefer you to crush them
  19. I'm in Starting weight 278 Goal 255
  20. Look into Mexico and self pay.
  21. Just keep sipping. It will be making a dent.
  22. So the flooding in Northern CO has gotten really bad. Basically there is no way today over the river and we are supposed to continue to get more rain off and off for the next 3 days. My hospital is over the river. I hope that 1st no one loses their more property or life in this flood and 2nd that is receded enough for me to get to the hospital on Monday. I do not want to delay the surgery. Over course being the worrier I am, I worry that if it is delayed how long will it be delayed. It is so hard to wait and wonder
  23. How quickly are you drinking it? You should only be sipping at this stage.
  24. 2. Other kids telling my kids that their mother is fat ( most hurtful) This one is one of the hardest ones for me. I have overheard kids making comments to my kids about me. It is soooooo painful. I hate hearing it and knowing how painful it is.
  25. I am trying to work with my kids to make protein their go to food. My boys are a bit better with that, but my girls love pancakes, waffles etc. I do not want them to have the struggles I have had. I admit I played a bit dumb as I was adopted when Dr would ask for family history. I was quick to say I do not know. Which I didn't but looking at my families eating habits and my parents health issues I knew where I was headed.
