I don't think that is $50 in american money, I think that needs to be converted over to american money, which if I remember correctly from being there a month ago, that should be between and $4 and $5. I walked to the Calimax (grocery store) and bought some stuff, I bought roman noodles and just drank the broth, I also bought C light which is the same as Crystal light, but in more tropical flavors. Hi Lynn, It's me - Kellie/Iowa, I am getting ready for my 1st fill and don't have the time to go back to Tj, have you had any luck finding fill Dr's in Iowa? I called Dr. Glascock's office in Cedar Falls and he takes new patients who weren't banded by him, but he charges an initial consult fee of a minimum of $300 (more depending on how much time he spends w/ you) then fills are $350/each, AND he may have to do CT scan or other tests to find out where your port is which will cost more money of course. He does do the fills under flouro though. I just don't have the time to go back to TJ and am looking for someone more local. Any help from anyone would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Hello everyone, my name is Kellie and I am getting banded with Dr. Ortiz in TJ on thursday, I have about 4 days until surgery, (OMgosh I can't believe it's that soon) I am very excited to be doing this. Just thought I would introduce myself and wish everyone a Happy New Year. I live in Iowa, so not alot of people in this state have been banded in Mexico or even been banded at all, mostly gastric bypass around here. Anyway, I am totally excited and am taking this journey alone, so hope to meet anyone who is having this done there around that time. I haven't found anyone who is having the surgery on my surgery day (on this forum or the other I am on) BabyGotBack, I see you are scheduled the day after me. So good luck maybe we'll run into each other while there. Kellie
