  1. This is very interesting to me. I have two boys and am currently pregnant with a third. I don't like to find out the gender before the birth, so I'll have to wait and see.......I was 5.5 months out of surgery when I got pregant. Went from 183 at surgery to 147ish when I got pregnant. I continued to lose weight for a few weeks due to morning sickness that lasted all day and getting Strep Throat around 6 weeks pregnant. (Currently 11 weeks pregnant). Got to 141 before going up to 142.5 pounds this morning (BMI of 25). Check out my blog http://stealingskinny.blogspot.com/

    Breastfeeding With Sleeve

Wish I would've seen this post sooner. I was sleeved July 2011 when my youngest was 14 months old. I took my pump to the hospital with me, but after the bowel cleanse and dehydration leading up to surgery, there was NOTHING coming out of my breasts after surgery (or before really). I live in PA and had flown to TX (alone) for my VSG. I was so sad on my return trip, convinced breastfeeding was over for us, as I'd been away from him for five days. BUT. My son was persistent and I let him try. I nursed him in side-lying position so it wouldn't hurt the biggest incision. It took a few days but my milk came back. He's now 22 months and I'm pregnant with a 3rd baby. He is STILL nursing. This boy just won't give it up. The milk must taste salty as he will guzzle Water after (and even DURING) nursing so I suspect he will tire of the taste soon. Check out my blog. I haven't announced my pregnancy yet but will soon. http://stealingskinny.blogspot.com/

When Is Too Soon To Get Pregnant?

My surgeon said to wait 9 months to a year. But, I accidentally jumped the gun and he now says I'll be fine. Had VSG in July 2011 and am now 10 weeks pregnant. My OB is not concerned at all. I reached my goal weight of 141 pounds (started at 183ish) and am now considered in "maintenance." This is my 3rd pregnancy---I was a chubba chubba for the first two pregnancies. I'm was having issues with nausea and zero appetite about four weeks ago due to morning sickness but my OB prescribed Zofran (anti-nausea med) and that has helped immensely. The weird thing is that when I take the medicine and get my appetite back, I seem to have less restriction than before I was pregnant. It's strange. And kinda scary because I don't want to gain too much. I now weigh 143. FWIW, a good friend of mine had gastric bypass several years ago and got pregnant with TWINS within six months of surgery. She LOST about 30 pounds while pregnant. Yes, LOST weight. Her twins were born totally healthy, normal sizes, were not in the NICU, no problems whatsoever, and after giving birth she lost ANOTHER 40 pounds before even leaving the hospital or something crazy. Long story short----she was at her goal weight within hours of delivering her twin girls. They are now 5 years old and typical sassy fun 5 year old girls. So I'm not worried, they are monitoring my nutrient levels and they've been perfect (so far).

Anyone else intimidated by the skinny's at the gym??

I wouldn't take it personal. When I was "one of the skinnies" I wasn't trying to be unfriendly. I just went to the gym to do my business and go straight home. If I recognized someone I knew, I'd speak to them. Otherwise, I worked out, kept my head down, and left. After you go for awhile you start to see who the "regulars" are at certain times and at certain classes and maybe you start casual "how's the weather" conversations with those kind of people but I don't think anyone is being "high school" snobby. I just joined a new gym today and was totally pumped about the dark "media" room they have. It's dark and has a movie screen you can watch and has elliptical machines and treadmills. I have no plans on watching the movie but it'll be nice to get in there with my iPod and not worry whether or not anyone can see the sweat stains forming down my back.
