  1. I haven't had a period in years but now that I've lost 10% of my starting weight Aunt Flo is back! I'm 38yo & a few years ago I saw my gyno for a complete work-up. After all the testing, nothing explained the missing period. In the back of my mind I always wondered if weight was a factor. Guess so, eh? Anybody else experienced this?? When your period returned, did it hang out for a while? did you ever get back to regular periods? How about cramps? thanks, ladies! chloe

  9. Congrats for taking the step! I was also self-pay and also had a lot of "fine" tests. I agree that this is a step to avoid bigger issues down the road. take care
  10. my surgery went well, too! I was originally scheduled for 1pm was doc was ahead of schedule. I was wheeled into OR at 11:45 & woke up in post op at 12:20. it was so unbelievably fast!!!! I had to hang around for xrays & then barium swallow test plus a 2-hour sip test. my mouth was so dry that I wanted to gulp the Water...but I'm too skittish. so, small sips, small sips. I was home by 6pm. no shoulder pain but my back is killing me after laying flat so much of the day. Like Jess, I slept on my side last night with no issues. Just trying to walk around the house & keep water intake up. i thought i'd have a big, distended belly due to air getting pumped in but I don't. Other than the new incisions, my belly doesn't really look different but it definitely feels tight. Dr has me on Clear liquids for 5 days. sigh. how is everybody else doing today???
  11. Getting ready to go to the hospital. I completely echo everyone else here - nervous & excited!!! I did get the sweetest Bandita tee from TitleNine this morning to commemorate this day. Check it out. So perfect for us, eh? Also, my blog is up & running. I wish everyone a successful day!!!! see you on the other side, chloe
  12. I'm on Dec 20th, too! This is my first ever post to this site so a little about me.. I'm going to Dr Synder here in Denver. it's outpatient so I'll be home that nite. I'm self-pay...first payment went out today so that made it real for the hubs! No pre-op diet for me. Anybody with no pre-diet considering dieting anyways? like cutting carbs? I'm 38, 5'8", 225lbs with 1 husband, 1 kid, 1 dog I travel a lot for work (its one of the things I'm most worried about banded life). In fact, I just got off a plane from Brazil on Saturday but just got surgery date last week so this whole thing is very feeling rather sudden....even tho' I've been researching for a long time. Just now starting to figure out my "to do" list - register at LBT - check - download myfitnesspal to my iphone - check -pre-op appt Wed -pack for hospital - shop for post-op food anything else?? I'm really looking forward to getting to know the rest of you December Darlings on this journey, Chloe
