  2. I was torn between wanting to tell everyone and not wanting to say a word but the blabbermouth part of me took over because I've been following this procedure for three or four years and when my company finally switched insurances I decided to go for it. I have to admit, there is a lady I work with that I have found myself incredibly frustrated with because she won't tell ANYONE how she has lost. She in her 40 or 50 about 5' even and has always been VERY large then all the sudden small. I've emailed her to congratulate her and tell her how great she looks and asked her how she did it and she has chosen to completely ignore me about it, where as the other 6 people at work have discussed it with me and given me advice on fighting BCBS if neccessary. I think because of that I have decided to go ahead and tell EVERYONE so that if there's another one of me out there that needs help and advice I'll be there to lead them 'to the light' so to speak. I find myself when I tell people saying.."now this ISN"T the bypass surgery.. you know.. the extreme surgery where they cut and reroute everything". seems like when I tell them that and explain this and HOW it works they are like OH>> wow.. neat. My DH and I collectively know 5 people that had the bypass and they all gained it back plus some so naturally his family was a little concerened and it took some convincing of my DH but now every one is behind me 100% and actually very excited for me. "Always leave get well cards on your mantel, that way when guests come over, they'll think you've been sick:sick and unable to clean." :hippie:Blessings & Fae Kisses :kiss2: :laugh First Consult: 1/3, 2007 :cry Viewed online 'seminar' 1/3  psych eval test 1/3 :scared: Appt to discuss Psych eval results 1/15 :clap2: Dr. Morton's office called to tell me they faxed my 300+ pages to BCBS :faint: waiting.. waiting and well.. waiting some more:pout: :high5: :peace: Insurance approval________? :laugh :banana first meeting with internist at surgeons office ____? 3. Holy crap woman you make me laugh. I have really enjoyed reading your post
  4. CONGRATULATIONS! I too will probably be a crying happy mess if I can just get under 300. Right now that seems almost an impossibility. I am still in the waiting for approval from BCBS process. My 37th bday is on 1/31.. maybe I'll get approved for my bday!
  5. Don't worry so much on it. The questions are very repetative and go somewhat like this.. Do you often see people or things other people don't see? So you hear voices? Do you sometimes want to hurt yourself or others? There are questions in there about stealing, anger suicidal thoughts and your options are False, somwhat true, mostly true and Very true. My experience was to go in and take the test, took me about an hour, then I scheduled an appointment with the dr for a week later. I showed up for the appointment which took an hour. 1st off he asked me to tell him about the procedure and what my expectations where. Then he some of my eating background, went over my psyche eval, then gave me two verbal iq test vocabulary and how are these words similar. Don't think about it to much and just be yourself. T
  6. I'm a nervous wreck.. Dr. Morton's office just called and they faxed all of my paperwork (over 400 pages) to BCBS. They said it would be 2-4 weeks before we know something. They also said with the food journal included (which accounts for the bulk of the pages) I would be hard to turn down, however, I'm trying REAL hard not to get my hopes up. If I can just mentally count on being denied then I'll be pleasantly surprised right? Ugh.

  8. My old doctor FINALLY found all of my past paperwork and faxed it in. I went there 3 weeks ago to sign a release form and finally go them yetserday. I'm going to call Dr. Morton on Monday or later this afternoon to see if they have everything now. My current dr is supposed to send in a 4 page form for BCBS and she is fixing to go on maternity leave so I'm hoping she got it done before she left.

  10. I'm feeling pretty good right now. My session down town went REALLY well(psyche eval). He was very impressed with my research and in fact said that I was by far one of the most educated about the lap band procedure before and post surgery that he had tested and talked to. He feels that I am an extremely good candidate. the tests summary was basically "Tracy is a very warm and friendly person who tends to bend over backwards for others and likes for everyone to get along. She also has a good head on her shoulders. Im' pegged as suffering with very mild depression brought on strictly by my weight and not feeling well. So.. NOW, he writes up a report and a letter of recommendation, faxes that in to Dr. Morton, then assuming they have all the paper they need, they will fax to BCBS of TN then we sit and wait, then wait some more.. then.. well, wait some more.

  12. I Love that there is a thread here for those of us conisered "SUPER morbid obese" Sheesh.. as if MORBID wasn't bad enough. ANYwho. I am in the getting all my paper work/dr's appointments in order. Went in for my consult, got a letter from my general Dr, therapist, spend 225 for a Psych evaluation and go back to get results for that on the 15th. i THINK after that all the paper will be gathered that is neccessary for BCBS TN and they will turn everything in. I am 36 Yrs old 5'6 335 BMI 34. My employer excludes any and everything to do with WL. They consider it to be cosmetic... RIGHT>>> SO. I expect to be turned down 1st time and then have to fight. I will be following this thread. This site is GREAT> Tracy

  16. Man.. worn out today. Went to work then left to go to my general dr. to get her letter of recommendation. Dr. Morton is v. convienantly across the hall from my general Dr. so i stopped by there to give them my food/exercise journal for 2006 and my personal letter to the insurance company. She gave me the phone number to the RN that I will be dealing with the most. I gave her a call and she went over the stuff I provided. She said that BCBS is VERY persnickety:huytsao and she wants me to have every single little thing before we turn anything in. She likes the letter I got from my therapist but knows that they will want an actual Psych test done and gave me a couple of numbers. I called one, drove down town, and took the test. Two different paper test at least 20 pages each. True/False, then False SomewhatTrue, Mostly True and Very true. HOLY MOLY :omg: FOLKS. the questions on there. do you hear voices.. do you see people no one else sees, headaches? is the world against you? have you ever dreamed of writing a good bye letter to your friends if you were going to die, do you feel as though you are more than one person? WOW:guess ANYwho.... I finished turned them in, then scheduled an appointment for 1/15 to see if I'm crazy :der:or not so everything is on hold until then.:ermm I was just really glad to be out of there:bolt:

  18. I have copied this from a site and it will give you a clue i think. I do not do the DRY skin brushing.. I brush in the shower with the body conidtioner because I have Fibro and my skin is always super sensative.. DRY SKIN BRUSHING It is WELL known that the Skin is the LARGEST Organ in the Body, and is responsible for one-fourth of the Body's Detoxification each day, also making it, one of the most IMPORTANT Elimination Organs! The Skin is also known as the "3rd" Kidneys and the Lungs are known as the "2nd" Kidneys. TOXICITY can gather beneath the Skin's Surface from such COMMON Influences such as IMPROPER pH levels in Body Soaps, Skin Creams and Anti-Perspirants, plus Synthetic Fibers worn NEXT to the Skin with ANY of them contributing to a variety of Skin Problems and Conditions. When you do Skin Brushing, you HELP your Lymph System to CLEAN itself of the TOXINS, that COLLECT in the Lymph Glands. You use a Simple Technique to IMPROVE the Surface Circulation on the Skin and KEEP the Pores of the Skin OPEN, encouraging your Body's Discharge of Metabolic Wastes, and resulting in an IMPROVED ability to COMBAT Bacteria, plus HELPING your Skin to look and feel HEALTHIER and MORE RESILIENT! Skin Brushing is a PERFECT Treatment for SELF-HELP Enthusiasts. Benefits: TIGHTENS Skin. HELPS Digestion. REMOVES Cellulite. STIMULATES Circulation. INCREASES Cell Renewal. CLEANS Lymphatic System. REMOVES Dead Skin Layers. STRENGTHENS Immune System. IMPROVES Exchange between Cells. STIMULATES the Glands, thus helping ALL of the Body Systems to perform at PEAK EFFICIENCY! How To Do: Buy a NATURAL, NOT Synthetic, Bristle Brush, since it does NOT SCRATCH the Surface of the Skin. Buy a Brush with a LONG Handle, so that you're ABLE to get to the Areas of your Body, that are NOT EASY to reach, when doing your own Skin Brushing. Skin Brush, before Showering or Bathing, at least ONCE per day, and TWICE, if possible. Do NOT wet Skin, since it will NOT have the SAME Effect, because this stretches the Skin. ALWAYS Skin Brush towards the Heart. Do Circular Counter-Clockwise Strokes on the Abdomen. Do LIGHTER Strokes over and around Breasts, but do NOT Brush the Nipples. Brush each part of the Body several times VIGOROUSLY, COMPLETELY Brushing the WHOLE Body. Brush the Soles of the Feet FIRST, because the Nerve Endings there affect the WHOLE Body, next Brush the Ankles, Calves, and Thighs, then Brush across your Stomach and Buttocks and lastly Brush your Hands to the Arms. Take a WARM Bath or Shower, which should always be followed by a COOL Rinse at the end to INVIGORATE Blood Circulation and STIMULATE Surface Warmth. Wash your Brush every few Weeks in Water and let it DRY.

  23. My 1st consult was today. Went pretty well. Oddly enough, the Dr. I'm using is two doors down from my regular Dr. I have to have a letter of recommendation from my reg Dr. so I'm going to see her tomorrow. I have been Fjournaling for 2006 on www.caloriesperhour.com and I have printed up all of it and will be turning that in as well.
  24. I'm with you sister. I am 329 lbs, 36 yrs old 5'6" and I am SCARED TO DEATH:faint: of what I'm going to look like. I have an olive complexion so even though I'm covered in stretch marks, you can't see them but you can feel them. Am I only going to lose weight only to have my husband to grossed out to touch me because of loose skin and stretch marks?? I've heard that skin brushing is helpful and started doing that. I'm in the beginning consulation process of the lap band procedure and hope to be banded by late feb if not before. I'm scared and excited. Tracy
