  3. Hi Everybody, My doctor told me not to take anything except stool softners because its too soon after surgery to take anything else.......I had my VSG on June 30th and that was my same concern as well...and always do what your doctor tell you to do If not you will start loosing your hair and wonder why...please take your protein..and sip,sip,sip,....if your hair get brittle go to a beauty store and find some ALPHA_GEE hair shampoo and reconstructor, its like a conditioner and it is wonderful...just dont take anything that may be harsh for your stomach because it is very delicate and you can cause it to bleed inside at least up to 1 year after surgery ...donot lift anything till you are off medical leave no more than 5-10lbs for atl;ease up to 6 months later....and your doctor says its ok...after about 3-4 months it will be ok to take gas-x or mirlax.....or something for constupation....trust me it is worth calling your nutritionist or the assistance nurse or some one who works along with the doctor....its your stomach so please take care of it...( also if you feel your weight has stopped this means you need to get a little motivated to start the fat burning process...it not gonna fall off itself)..so you have to work with the sleeve in order for it to work for you...so keep up the good work...get a gym membership and get used to the tread mill..it will; become your best friend....trust me I know....best of luck to everyone.....
  4. Hi everyone, its been about 3 months sence I've posted anything, lust a little about my journey,It was a long road completing the test we all have to go through, the Phyc,nutritionist,6 month weight management and all the other many countless test we put our self through to look fabelous..and this goes for our men as well,I am 3 months out,Post-po and I am 40lbs gone forever, just remember this is a life changing adjustment, you have to change your whole life...not just your eating, you have to change your thinking as well, and most of all DO NOT GO AND BUY ANY CLOTHING untill you are atleast 1 year out at least not a lot of clothing....because you will loose weight so rapidly you will be upset with yourself for spending the money...so word to the wise, love who you are and enjopy the ride because it get s better than this just I hope you are ready for it....I started out with a weight of 274lbs and now today I am currently 230lbs...first you have to make sure you have a Gym or an exercise regemin or walking a lot because with all the energy that you have you need something to focus it on....if you do the weight will come off faster than you think...I walk 3 days a week and my weight is at a 10lb a month and a lot people does and can do a lot better than this..Just look me up on FB-facebook and there is a personal support group you can ask questions and talk to a few people and most of all the encouragement is wonderful...look for Marnetta Miller...and the group is VSG for me...see you there!!!
  5. Hello,It is a personal desision who you want to know about your own body,,but you dont want to have it on your coutious,if something may go wrong and you didnt tell anyone but you can always print off some of the info and share it with your family, the support is great because you will be in the hospital for 2 days and you will need the help around the house....they will be good to help and you can not do any lifting or even go to the store...so it is good to have family around to help....please reconsider and pick and choose who you want to know and also you want them to keep it confadential(you dont want anyone else to know....
  6. Hi Splashdancer, there is a lot of info on www.realiseband.com about the sleeve gastrectomy that you can print and share with your mom and dad but please in your own time share your good news with your parents you will need that added support, they will understand and thats the best part about parents (they dont Judge you)...I never regret telling my mom,my dad is deseased...so I do a lot of praying and tell everything to God He dont judge either...so If you need lots of friends come to my FB Page look me up under (Marnetta Miller)I have a group called VSG for me and you will love talking to the friends 1 on 1 .....its kinda kool.....you wont feel like you are in this all alone...ok....so please have a talk with your parents and let them know even though they may not understand why at first but just tell then you are doing this just for you and your health to live longer to take care of your children...dont forget look me up...ok

  9. I have been on this journey sence December 2nd when I went on my first siminar, and now I have till June 22nd,I guess thin give the whole diffinition to Journey,I never thought this trip would ever come to an end,if any one wants to know how long there journey would be it runs about 6 months till everything is complete then you have to wait till per-op testing then the surgery date...I took it as if after the hospital called I was approved and I didnt drive my self crazy....so now the fun begins.....shopping for the proteins and the sugar free foods, juices and the reat of the stuff I will have to get used too.....thanks to all my friends and the support....lots of love camille01...I will keep you all posted....
  10. Read Psalms 83:18...first give direction to your prayers, you know who you are praying to,then the bible says in order for your prayers to work for you,you have to work with them,so when you pray you need to work with your prayers, start with some of your favorite soups, juices, soft foods like peaches, and keep in mind this is a tool, not a quik fix and it will only help if you let it help you,the drs should have told you that you get that hunger gland removed when you have the procedure done,so you really have to make your self eat....start with some baby food if you have too....it may really help...I'm sorry you feel the way you do,just write and maybe we can help each other,I havnt had my surgery yet,its in June..I need to know what to downs how to gi it as well....thanks for posting you really helped me as to what to look for...........camille01
  11. It's about time,I just got everything complete today.....yeah...now the ball is not in my court...I'm just waiting on my second visit with the surgeon and to receive my instructions as what to do...this had truly been a journey.......6 months of doctors visits of weight management, psych visit,Nutritionist visit, blood test, gallbladder screening and I don't remember what else....THANK GOD....I am finished.....
  12. Congratulation Meggie, you have made the best decision in your own behaft, since they now about your surgery I wouldn't go any furthur,I wouldn't give then the dates of anything,I would stick to my husband and son and after its all said and done and you start healing and looking good for yourself I really wouldn't worry about what they think, and beside they will soon come around.....you are doing this for you and your health....not for no one else...
  13. You can call and have your day changed, plus it will give you a little more time to get your soups ,protein, and drinks together and nothing bets having your sister by your side, mines is 500miles away and will not try to there for me,so let yours be there for you please, its called true sisters love....
  14. It depends on what you are eating and how often you are eating it......if you can find my Last Blog it has a ,copy and paste of a book on Dietary Guidelines after the V,sleeve..it will help you so much I hope you find it....if you can't please let me know and I'll send it to you....camille01

Hi Lisa,I had a talk with my surgeon and with the haital harnia it is repaired durring the sleeve surgery so its now nuthing to really worry about, she said that it would be easyer for them to get too, some people dont get symptons too much from it but heart burn from the acid in the stomach, just relax and when they do your procedure you will have it all done at the same time....my prayers are with you ..I am awaiting my final wt management then my info will be sent in for approval...Yeah....happy weight loss...camille01
  16. You all are so very welcome.I think the most thing they stress in the book is getting in the fluids.I have another booklet that stresses the inportants of getting in your proteins....it says that you will be extremely tired when you don't and you will be more pron to loose some of your hair without the protein....I hope you found your favorite....you have to get in atleast 75grams... that's at least 3 /22 to 25 grams ....work on it before you have your surgery....go through the taste test.....first......good luck everyone.....
  17. I hope this works, its for anyone who has the sleeve done or that is getting it done soon ,if you can get it to print please do,its the book on Vertical sleeve on things we all need to know ..I hope you can get it to copy....if not save it to your computer Please take a look and read the info........both Links are the same thing https://docs.google....uthkey=CIix6OQM (.copy and paste and put in your search bar) Anyony with this link can access....this is the book that everyone that is getting the vertical sleeve needs to know,.... about the foods, calcium and even the vitinams we need to talk down to the amount of food we can eat... Camille01 https://docs.google....uthkey=CIix6OQM
