When you were put on the 6 month weight management program what is this for and what do you do,I am just wondering because if I could loose weight I would have done it on my own before the program , (Is this just a period where it make you aware of what you are eating or is this a time where we are to diet like we would on the pre-op diet-please let me know-HELP-because I don't want to go back to my doctor and not loose a pound?.....camille01

Hi Tena,I was looking at your Blog and you were talking about the 6 months diet that the doctors have us on,Its the Insurance company,some of them require that we are to go on the 6 month diet program,and some of the ins.co don't require it,thats what gets to me,I am up for my 1st appointment on Janurary 10th I havn't seen the neutrisinist or the dietition but after the siminar I was told that I had to do this and I started when I left then and I was glad that I did because I have 3 months down and 3 to go,I am hoping that the Insurance tell me that I don't have to do it,I wont look at it as if I waisted my time but as if this is something I needed all the time but guess what I DIDN'T LOSE ANY WEIGHT EITHER...camille01

Hi JMH80, I understand how you feel,I have looked at the lapband 2 yrs ago but ran into such negitivity I put it in the back of my mind,Now I'm not letting anything stop me now,I have been researching this same info for the last 2 yrs I feel ike I can do a siminar my self,...lol,but anyway I have my 1st appointment with the surgeon on Jan 10th, I've started what they told me to do in october and now I have 3 months of weight management complete and my referel,I just had a appointment with my heart doctor last month in case they want the information she has,I don't know wha else they may want fron me but I guess Ill find out soon....I know your process has been long and I pray for you that your road traveled is comming to a complete,and you get to start living....Yeah...keep posting and let us know how things are going............camille01

Hi Ballajenn34, I hav emy 1st appointment on the day of your surgery,I an sure that the doctor will let you know what to eat and drink but I an starting now getting used to protein drinks because you will need plenty of these, you can go to www.unjury.com and look at the product,there they have nothing but briatric products,Vitimans,calcium and other stuff that you are going to need....check it out...let us know how you are doing...but please check with the neutritionist at the hospital when you go back or even call them and make sure that you are doing what you are suppose to do....camille01

I have my 1st appointment with the doctor and dietition,Neutritionist,I hope there is more of the Dr's team there so I can get more than 1 thing done at a time,I guess I am so excited,,,I Havn't had my birth-day(band-day) scheduled yet, I kinda wish it was,...I want to see how well I would do (can you see your self skinny?) I ask my self that all the time. it feels so good to finally come close to something that I have been waiting on for a while....please keep me up on how well you are doing....it feels good to have someone to go through this with...camille01

I have my 1st consult with my surgeon and her team,I am getting more excited as the days move on,I have a lot of my Information that the doctor and the insurance requires,1st I have my 6 month weight management 3 months down,I hope that they dont want the whole 6 months,I am ready for my 2 weeks of clear liquid,I am ready to loose weight....Yeah.... Any body in this with me? Who has there appointment scheduled for the same day? What food in the liquid diet are we really allowed to eat? anybody have a good Idea?

hello,Wondering I was just reading your blog and thinking about what you were writing about as I was reading,I was in the same position ,my husband was against it till we shared in the info,then it gave him a better understanding as what I wanted to do this for,there are reasons we do what we do to our bodys,there is several different websites to educate your self before making such a drastic desision,and your friend,she cant really call herself a friend if she doesn't support you in your desisions that you make because if it was her I am sure that you will support her,this is like a life altering change that we make,I havn't had my 1st appointment yet until Jan 10th and Iam excited so if your friend dosent support you in your desision ,you need a new friend...think about it if the shoe was on the other foot,I am here if you need dont mind support from a strainger...Just keep your husband by your side,he's your best friend anyway....love and cherish your relationship with him like I do and please thank him for being there ....thanks for reading and leting me share my feelings....camille01

Hi lab69, I am making that step with you,I cant wait to have my surgery,I have read lots of Blogs and went to youtube and listened to lots of video blogs ,I went to lapband.com,i went to realizeband.com there is so many websites to get educated on what to expect,but with a band breaking it has a lot to do with erosion of the band,and that comes from not following what the doctor tells you to do and staying on your diet program,too much vomiting,lots of things cause the band to break that we need to avoid.....any way you are not alone,...there are plenty of other people who havnt had there surgery done yet.....all you have to do is ask who hasn't had there suegery done you and you will be overwelmed with the responce....Im here and If you want we can do it together......I have my 1st appointment on Jan 10th, Have you attended your siminar yet?....if so you are on your way...oh yeah there are 2 other surgerys that you can choose from if that mans story scared you bt please dont be afraid of 1 persons experiance.......camille01....

Hi there Crystal,I see,I read and I learn from other peoples mistakes,WOW I bet that did hurt,I don't like to throw up only when something feels like the way you described it(pain in the chest),I hope you are alright,with the weight that you lost,you needed to get up and go out and treated yourself to a new shirt or something special for all your hard work that you put in,...don't feel too lonely because the kids will be back home soon,this is a blessing for some moms to be able to have the house to themselves,you can sleep or put some candles out and treet yourself like the Queen you are for all your work you put in ,I just hope you feel better and got the spicy chicken out of the way........next time take that sandwich money and buy your self something special.....camille01

Hi there Svillelady,I am glad to see hat you are doing so well after your surgery,I havn't had my appointment yet with the surgeon its comming on Janurary 10th,now after you ad your first appt. how much after that did you have to wait,I have already went to 2 siminars and at the 2nd one I finally met the surgeon I want to do my surgery,I guess that I'd would rather be safe that sorry,to make sure I get a feel of who will be doing what I need to have done.I already sratred the weight management for 6 months,I have 3 down and 3 to go,I am curious as to how much longer I would have before they will let me know a date,I dont mind waiting but the longer I wait the more I eat and thats what I do not want because I'm ready to loose,loose,loose,,,,I havn't lost yet because the war strted a long time ago and I'm still fighting.....Much luck and we will talk soon.....camille01

Hi there,just look at it as a form of rehab.you can not put a drug user in a room with drugs and expect him how to use,and you can not put a alcholic in a liquor store and not expect him to have a snort,so think about it (you can't put a chocoaholic in a room with a box of chocolates and expect to come back and have a full box.....not that im calling you any of these,,but resist the temptations and tell the person that you would prefer a fruit basket ,,,or if they want to get you something chocolate,,the GNC sales chocolate protein shakes,,, ...Just have fun with it and don't over do it because its fun taking off clothes expecially the ones that are too big for us...but I cry every time I put on something that I have to have resized and taken out..... .....camille01

Hello My Friend As they say "I think you found your sweet spot! " "CONGRADULATION" On the First go round,not being hungery on the liquid diet ,,that is wonderful... i am still hanging in there I found some very incurraging friends on this site (I guess all I have to do is read and understand everybody's situation is different even though the surgery is the same,some peope are faster healers than other,some of us can tolarate the pain better than the rest,but one can't be placed above the other but with the power beyond what is normal we are able to do a lot of things, with your self and lonnie200t and skinnychick,I think you guys are very special friends I am really glad to know because with the words of incurragement that you all offer me makes me very happy to accept and it makes my road down my journey more pleasent for me to walk it...thanks and you continue to heal and do good because I may have to have a shoulder to lean on later....camille01

the blogs that I have read you hear most people say that they have no restrictions and are starving,where the doctor has you on liquid diet,I would have some eggdrop soup or some french onion or something good that wont go against what he tells you you can have,,, I want to congradulate you on having your surgery,I've read several of your Blogs..keep up your post on your weight lost because your Blogs are encurraging to others,.good luck with your weight lost,I havn't had my surgery yet I am anxious but paitently waiting....camille01

congradulations!!!!!...I am waiting for my 1st appt. but its a good wait...I can do it,I was told by a friend the other day,why rush your life,don'tyou want to be around to enjoy it once you get it, and beleave you me I want to see my self in a size 14-16 again.....so take your time and enjoy yourself,learn what your new(2nd) chance is all about and live life as it was ment to be lived(enjoyed)....camille01

If you want to,Im not trying to turn you away from here but if you go to forums theres a section for people who has had the sleeve done,where you can get the incurragement from the same opperation,(i have a question,how do you feel,I have a friend that wants the sleeve done she is so excited,what procedure did you have to go through?what recovery time did you have,by the way i Havn't been banded you and I have question of any one that has had any of the 3 surgerys done,.....please let me know......camille01

I always wondered why people Never have pictures taken of themselves taken,I finally figured it out,When you are overweight you have a tendency to hide from the camera,I know I do but every once in a while I will take a nice picture and suprize myself because it looks really good,I wouldn't want anything happening to me where my children couldn't find any pictures of me,God forbide if I was to have an accident and they had to have a picture to reconstruct my face they would have to use my high school pictures....My question is why would you hide from the camera now because"If you ever want to show anyone how you looked before your sugery how could you If you don't have nothing to show?God loves you if you are big or small(ugly or a beauty queen)take some pictures and show yourself some love...I want to remember myself FAT OR SLIM.

Hi there,I was reading as well where some people that go through slipping or erosion of the band went ahead and had the sleeve done but thats something that you really have to give some thought about because it is not reversable but the lapband is,If you havn't attended a siminar yey Please do because the info is so important and informational with this,the gastris bypass and the sleeve removes a part of the stomach but the band doesnot,thats my only problem with thise surgerys,and the recovery time is longer....but you have to talk to the surgeon and your PCP about what you want to do......good luck with your desision.........camille01 ,by the way I am 44 yrs old and married for 4yrs(weight in at 267 and I am 5'6 ),I am going to do the lapband,I am still waiting on the insurance and my appointment to come around

hello catlady,I was just reading your Blog and in order for you to understand that will take place and the quilifacations go to www.lapband.com this is the information website,it wll answer all your questions,but besides looking up information on the surgery you can go to the lapband.com website and find a place near to your residents and schedule yourself for a informational siminar thats where you start at,once you go to the siminar and get the doctors info and call to get your first appointment then you will start your journey from there,they can then tell you if your insurance will pay for the surgery.....once you find this out every thing else falls into place from there.....good luck with everything .......camille01
