    Day 5 post-op & feeling down

You need to spend time asking yourself why you are "fat" . There are reasons we are fat, and the problem with the lapband and ANY bariatric surgery is that the surgery WILL NOT CHANGE WHY you are obese. You will skirt around the band and form maladaptive feeding patterns, just as you have being overweight. I say this with all the love and respect of a fat person myself! I've been banded for 10 mths, 55 pound weight loss. There is alot of mental stuff that you have to fix along with the diet. The weight is all symptoms of something else. Food should be a source of nutrition and not emotional fullfillment. Good luck! God bless...I struggle with this EVERYDAY!

    Lapband journey!

    I need a fill!!!

Protein bars, greek yogurt, protein shots(clear), deli meat, mix your protein shakes with some kind of fat free yogurt or , avacados, cottege cheese, fish. Really try to get in 60-70 grams of protein a day. it will curb your appetite...the rest is in our heads. try to start your day out with high protein to start your metabolism earlier so it burns calories longer in the day....activity/exrecise! Good luck....

Why can't I stop myself from eating on this pre-op diet??!!!!

Not that we all didnt cheat...but how many grams of protien are in your shakes? Are you getting in at least 60 grams of protien/day? Try increasing your protien and see......not that it will help the no chewin thing...it takes 4 days straight to really relieve the habit of "eating" break your habit now cause you are on your way to no chewing..eating...and no more satisfaction from food. Take this time to do the behavior modification you will need for life with the band....because food isnt about pleasure or satisfaction with the band..it is only about nutirition. BEHAVIOR MODIFICATION = LAPBAND nothing else works.....its like buy a treadmill and saying since you bought it...it should work without me using it....ya right,...huh! use the band....change why you are fat.
  6. Never thought I would blog! But here I am,,,new to the site and about 6 weeks post-op. First fill delayed due to traveling...will get it on Dec 1st. Ok! So I am almost twenty pounds down...starting weight 242, now about 225. My problem is this...I think I am "tight"???? It hurts to eat, I can feel the food moving down with sharp pains like it can't get down all the way, I have also found that I cant get fluids down at all if I have eaten...but I have not had a fill...what did I do wrong??? I cant recall a instance that I got something stuck?? I have been able to eat just about anything now...yikes! I know it's most likely something I have done!

    lap band dangers

Thats like saying the treadmill failed me cause I didnt use it. Compare complications and morbitiy rates with individuals with BMIs >40 and compare with the lap band morbitiy rates. Thats the key. Good luck in your journey, whatever that may be. You sound angry, are you overweight and a failed Lapband patient looking to blame something besides yourself for your failed weight loss attempts?
