About Me

I am a 30 y.o. female from the beautiful state of Tennessee. I have lived here most of my life. I'm married to a wonderful, sexy, intelligent man and have two amazing boys (step), 10 & 13. I've been overweight as long as I can remember - yoyoing on just about every new hip diet (and the oldies but goodies) since I was 13. I come from a family of athletes (mostly baseball or softball). I have an older brother, a younger sister, and a younger half-brother. I'm basically the only obese sibling - my little brother is a little chubby but by no means "morbidly obese." I've played softball all my life, intermural volleyball and football in college, as well as doing the gym thing. I enjoy being active but no matter how hard I try - weight never seemed to stay off. I was tested by my doctor a few years ago and I'm what you would call "a healthy fat girl"...ahahah, what an oxymoron.

I'm a positive person and despite my weight, I have pretty good self-esteem. I know my worth is not determined by the size of my pants (or shirts for that matter). I have some of the most amazing, supportive friends anyone could ask for and I consider myself very blessed. I have a good job that I enjoy - most days. The band is only going to enhance the life the good Lord has allowed me to have.

So far I'm still getting to know my band and my body's ability to utilize it. I still have days when I crave the foods that helped make me fat but for the most part, I don't give in. I'm averaging about 2 lbs a week weightloss. My goal was 10 lbs a month so I'm a little behind that but as long as it keeps coming off, I'll keep striving for more. Feel free to add me on facebook. We are all in this together and most need as much support as we can get. :D
