  1. I think everyone's recommendations for shakes are great. One thing I found after surgery was that all the sweet shakes ... I use to love them before but after... Couldn't stand all the sweet Protein so I hadto find other protein. I bought Proti Diet soups...they were gross but helped me get away from the sweet stuff. Bottom line? Get yourself some variety. Good luck and speedy recovery!
  2. I've been using it for a while and LOVE IT
  3. I hear you. I was banded Dec 21st and I'm experiencing the same thing. I've heard this is common for bandsters, although some never experience this
  4. I hear you. I was banded Dec 21st and I'm experiencing the same thing. I've heard this is common for bassists although some never experience this
  5. I think what would help me most is to watch a fellow bandster who has been successful eat a meal. What do they eat, how do they portion it out, cut it up, chew it etc...basically...I think that might bevery weird. Anyone who's lost 75% or more of their weight want to video that for me and YouTube it?
  6. 10%... and I'm almost 4 weeks out from surgery
  7. Just as an FYI...I don't log into this board via my computer, I do it on my iPhone so I CAN'T search the forums as F2F suggests. For those who ask repeat questions, I usually skip over them and move on. I'm here to learn and be built up, not beaten down for seeking the knowledge I lack.
  8. My hUsband knows and a close friend. I had a hiatal hernia fixed at thesame time and told them I was having a hernia repair...not the whole story, but not a complete lie either. You tell the people you feel comfortable telling when you want to tell them. Everyone has their own opinion on this but the bottom line is: do what feels right to you.
  9. Hi there... I paid $16K in Mississauga, ON BMI of 30. I'm almost 3 weeks out
  10. Hi there...I was 33 and was banded by Dr Mumford @ SWLC
  11. TX I have noticed that wine now just tastes rancid to me. I'm ok with that as I love wine...but now my taste buds don't . BTW the lapband book I received from my surgeon spoke about how wine, red wine, is good in moderation and supports a drink or two. This book is published by the original lapband expert in Melbourne Australia Keep up the good work TX
  12. Trishfish...I'm not afraid...it's just none of their business. I never told people when I had miscarriages or other personal things...simply because I'm a more private person. Don't assume it's fear related when you really don't know me as a person. I think it's great you tell everyone...great for you...it's not how I chose to live my life
  13. Cali...I agree regarding the chiro, but the comment about not wanting to tell anyone makes you worry that people are afraid they will fail...well that's just not fair. I don't tell, not because I'm ashamed, but I just don't want to hear anyone else's opinion on it and risk peope who would either be verbally unsupportive or try to sabotage me.
  14. So I weighed myself today (like everyday) and I've lost again (need to update the ticker) and I realized that I'm only 5 lbs from being Overweight. Know some may think this crazy when they first read, but it's all about perspective. If I'm 6 lbs away from being overweight...that means I will no longer be obese!!!!
  15. I had the headache and it was straight across my forehead and down my neck. I think it was related to gas personLly. Nothing would touch it except the liquid codeine
  16. I too was banded on the 21st and feel wonderful. I love the feeling of not being hungry I find so much of my mental time free now as I'm not always thinking about my next meal. Gas is gone, the incisions feel fine...I almost feel like I never had surgery
  17. Usually your surgeon determines how much and when you get a fill. Not sure how it works when your surgeon is in Mexico
  18. I was told 3 weeks before swimming and 4 weeks before hot tub
  19. I hear you Rault. I cooked the whole dinner and I only know what the gravy tastes like. I had butternut squash soup for dinner and felt completely satisfied! I was kind if surprised that I didn't slip and fall...
  20. I'm day 4 too. I found yesterday quite hard. Not because of the surgery or band, but because I had a headache that the liquid Tylenol wouldn't touch. I still have it a bit but I finally broke down and crushed som Advil. All in all pretty good although I'm sick of anything sweet which is pretty much anything that has the Protein in it so I got some protein Soups.
  21. Dave...thank you for mentioning the weight gain. I cried when I weighed out before leaving...I was albs heavier than when they weighed me in. And I was in and out in 5 hours. Almost broke my heart to go up that much in 5 hours. But now, this morning @ home I've lost 4 of the 8 (survey was yesterday) and the gas is finally coming out

  24. Oh yes...I will definitely manage the pain. I'm not going to be a martyr here. Will let you know how it goes.
  25. Thanks all. I'm now back at home recovering. The pain isn't so bad at all. The gas makes my chest feel tight but I just move and sip Water. Thanks for all the prayers and warm thoughts!
