Swimming?

How long after surgery did you wait before swimming in a pool or at the beach?

I'm 3 weeks post op and heading for a beach holiday tomorrow. I would love to go for a swim in the pool or at the beach but unsure. My incisions have nearly completely healed. Two have a small scab on them but the others are just red and itchy.

I will check with the Dr but wanted to hear your thoughts and/or experiences on it too.

Thanks!

Casual swimming should be fine as soon as our incisions are healed.

For more serious swimming like doing laps I was told to wait till 6 weeks post op.

I was told two weeks post op I could return to swimming. I had been doing an hour of lap swimming 7 days a week though prior to surgery.

I was told 3 weeks before swimming and 4 weeks before hot tub
