  1. Wait 3-4 days and then reassess. If still too tight, then go to your dr
  2. Way to go...you're doing awesome...keep up the great work!!
  3. I find it painless. My Dr doesn't use any numbing either. Takes less than a minute and you're good to go! honestly, the flu shot is worse.
  4. You're likely swollen. Take small sips of Water today and try some other liquids like broth tomorrow. You could very well be swollen. You might also have a bit of a bug...so hang out here right now and if you can get sips of water in you are good. Let the swelling go down. If you start to have acid reflux or you find that you're vomitting stomach acid in your sleep...then get to your dr asap.
  5. Take each day one at a time. When I slip and fall off the wagon I choose 2 small things to do each and eeryday. Recently it was: Get my Vitamins in...and get 3 litres of Water in. And I committed to myself that I would do it for a week. By the end of the week, that was easy. I also noticed at the end of that week that I wasn't eating as many sweets. The next week I committed to getting to the gym 4 times...check, done! and by the end of the first week the scale had moved, end of the second week, again! And then I got a slight fill...and I am pretty sure I'm in my green zone...so it's all on me now. I've my weight doesn't move, it's because I'm not working the band. Go bag to the basics...get yourself hydrated..then walk for 30 minutes...when you feel the urge to eat, the do something else with your hands....like drink some water or paint your nails. The bottom line is...you have to want it...no one else can want it for you. You have to find what motivates you. Wishing you renewed motivation
  6. Patyann...that's really spot on! I agree with you 100%
  7. SWLC in Mississauga is the top one in Canada
  8. I take vitamin b12 and b6 injections...self administered...I've got a ton of energy now!
  9. Do liquids and monitor. You've probably aggravated things and have some swelling.
  10. Ging.er tea might work. It could last a couple of days or weeks as you heal from surgery. For me it lasted 2 weeks and then it was gone. Feel better soon Mark. It's all worth it in the end
  11. Maria the pop is likely the needle entering the port My Dr has me on liquids for 24 hours following a fill and not solids, so do be cautious. I think you'll find your band is just fine. And remember, just because you CAN eat more doesn't mean you should. Hope you are well
  12. Dr Coburn is awesome and you're in good hands. Take a deep breath and dive it...it's a short swim to the other side. Congrats!
  13. It was no problem really. Take it easy, use the Mede if needed. I was best friends with my heating pad and gasx plus walking. Some discomfort but it's all worth it!
  14. Mississauga and SWLC with Dr Coburn... It's an awesome journey!
  15. Tatta Tamer from Lululemon...I love it!
  16. Follow the plan. Proteins first, the veggies, then starches as need. What did your surgeon advise you to except post surgery?
  17. Did she get a picture of your pouch? Can't tellnthat from your post. If she did and it's stretched then you need an unfill, unless you want further surgery... You decide. I, personally, have been there, done that.
  18. Both Dr Mumford and Dr Coburn are great...Dr Coburn has an AWESOME bedside manor and is a very caring, hard working Dr.
  19. Way to go and never look back...so long 200's!!! Well done
  20. Ahhhh, thanks for educating me
  21. What's a bear?
  22. Way to go BeerGut...you'e lost well over the last 9 months...well done! How did you find the P90X...did it get you ripped like the advertise?
  23. Hi Joan...sorry to hear about your slipped band...it is a time consuming process and, I found, it really played a mental game on me..truly. In April I was in India and experienced acid reflux, then it got really bad to the point where I would wake up choking on acid. I was there on business and left for home immediately. Once back in Canada I went to my surgeons office. They did a barium swallow and diagnosed a esophageal dilation, they removed all the fluid from my band. With time, they felt the pouch would go back down to size and I could be on my merry weight loss way again. End of May I was in France and as soon as I stepped off the plane (I'm still unfilled at this point) I started throwing up...it's was dried blood in stomach juices. I didn't eat on the plane so it wasn't to do with food poisoning. I continued to throw up from Sunday to Tuesday and kept nothing, not even water, down. I sent an email to my PCP and my surgeon. I got on the plane and when I landed I had emails and voicemails from my surgeon to get to the hospital asap. He xrayed me and found that I had slipped. A portion of the stomach below the band had pushed up and over the band. My stomach was also somewhat twisted. I was extremely dehydrated and continued to throw up. He put my name up on the surgery board to get me in asap. As soon as I was out of surgery I felt 100% better. Recovering from that was easier than the first surgery. He used all the same entry points so I have no new scars. Now, I'm at a good place for a fill. I think I can work it here for a bit and lose some weight. Make sure you only eat the volume of food your surgeon tells you (mine is 1c) and cut things up small and chew. Now that I have fill in my band I have to retrain my head on bite size and chewing. With little kids pulling at me during dinner, it's easy to get distracted and take to big of a bite or not chew enough. Good luck on your journey. I thought I'd NEVER get back to a fill that I could live with in my band...and here I am. M
  24. So...I've had the band 9 months Sept 21st. I was unfilled April through to August (having revision surgery for a slipped bandin at the end of May). Of the 9 months I've been on empty for 4.5 (those were VERY hard months). I'm back to decent fill level and feeling great. The scale is starting to move downward again and I'm feeling like I just might lose the 20lbs by end of year...that's 5lbs a month and very achievable. It's been slow...painfully slow at times, but I wouldn't trade my band for anything...when I was completely unfilled, I was ravenous. I really had an eye opener of how much the band actually does. it's all so exciting!!!
  25. That's 1500 calories that your body burns if you sit down and do nothing all day. 1500 calories to keep you breathing... That's actually pretty good. Now add in every time you move, eat etc and that number goes up. Add in exercise and you will most certainly have a caloric deficit. Mine is 1485. That the BMR Basal Metabolic Rate...yours truly is average. Track what you eat...get out and move everyday. 45lbs is better than 0. Some do lose very slowly...if that's you, accept it and keep moving forward. You CAN do this!!!
