Dave...thank you for mentioning the weight gain. I cried when I weighed out before leaving...I was albs heavier than when they weighed me in. And I was in and out in 5 hours. Almost broke my heart to go up that much in 5 hours. But now, this morning @ home I've lost 4 of the 8 (survey was yesterday) and the gas is finally coming out

Is when my band is put in and a whole new beginning. I'm excited and nervous all at the same time. See you on the flipside...will post here tomorrow when I'm back home.

Oh yes...I will definitely manage the pain. I'm not going to be a martyr here. Will let you know how it goes.

Thanks all. I'm now back at home recovering. The pain isn't so bad at all. The gas makes my chest feel tight but I just move and sip Water. Thanks for all the prayers and warm thoughts!

So funny but i'm hostessing Christmas dinner as well. I get banded Tuesday so I will be recovering then, but I told my family the same thing, hernia repair. None of them can understand why I'm having this repaired before Christmas.

I have been requested full bottomed panties...no questions about piercings, just that I must be free of jewellery

I've just told people I'm having a hiatal hernia repair and my dr wants me to lose some weight before surgery to make it safer an a quicker recovery. And it's true, o am having a hernia repair...I just didn't tell anyone that a lapband was going in @ the same time.

It's 1 week for me too!!!! So looking forward to being on the other side

I'm finishing day 3 and I'm hungry too although I find warm broth satisfies me in the e evening and crystal light of her al teas durin the day...day 3 down and 11 to go!

I had my consult Nov 25 and could have had surgery Dec 14. That was too quick for me so I opted for January 4th. However, I called back the next day and bookedfor Dec 21st...he only does the procedure on Tuesdays. I'm through day 3 of pre-op and can't wait for the 21st. Do what you're comfortable with and all will be well

So it's day 1 of 14 on Medtrim...I need words of encouragement here. This shakes taste awful and I'm eyeing up my colleagues elbow gettting ready to gnaw at it...any recommendations?

Congrats on asserting yourself and taking control of your destiny. My surgery date is Dec 21st and I've completed my first day of pre op diet...totally SUCKS!!! But alas...I'l persavere and in no time the remaining 13 days will pass. Good luck and congrtulations again!!

...so, I've just booked my date with the surgeon for Dec 21st. I start my 2 week pre-op diet Dec 7th. Unf I'll be on liquid for my son's first birthday , but I just keep reminding myself what this time next year will look like! I'm excited and nervous and hungry all at the same time. No Christmas dinner for me...so i just had a turkey dinner (I'm Canadian so it's not Thanksgiving for me )...and I've had my fill, which really wasn't that much actually. Any support, insights or words of wisdom are welcome...especially thoughts for getting through this pre-op diet with my sanity intact. Cheers, Michelle

Tomorrow starts my 2 week foray into Slurpee Town in preparation for my Dec 21st surgery. I'm in Canada so I'm self pay...this isn't an insurance requirement, I think it's just a way to reduce the overall risk of the surgery...so I will abide because I've got 2 little ones that need Mom at home. Can't wait to be able to run a little faster with them! Congrats to all...and let's stay strong together MK

Ronnie...if it freaked h im out then so be it....you're doing it for you and not for him. Just think how many guys will be lining up afterwards...you'll have your pick Very strong of you to tell him though.

I'm sure you will have excellent results Ladbug. I have 2 weeks pre-op on meditrim. I can have Clear liquids and broth and up to 250 cals of non starch vegetables. It's all about shrinking the liver so that the surgery is safer...I here it's absolute HELL to go through so wish me luck. How are you doing now that you're finishing up your first week post-op? Keep me posted on your success...it will help keep me motivated for Dec 21st

Hi there! My name is Michelle and I'm located in Canada. I have booked my surgical consultation for Nov 25th and am hoping fo an early Jan surgery date. This could mean the I'm on pre-op over Christmas but c'est la vie! Anyone out there want to take a newbie with about 80 - 90 lbs to lose? Michelle
