Killer In Prison Gets Lap Band
I think life in prison should mean life in prison. I don't support the death penalty because I think it would be more if a punishment if that person had to spend the rest of their life thinking about what they did and should be reminded if it repeatedly. Prison systems used to gave to support themselves by labor, ie chain gangs and such, but that was ruled as inhumane.

Killer In Prison Gets Lap Band
Actually what shocked me the most was he killed two people, ate one and then tried to kill another and only got 21 years.

How To Tighten A Lap Band Without A Port Head?
I don't want to stir the pot more but I agree that you should seek counselling. I am not saying this to be mean but you are risking your life to keep this lapband. You seem to have an issue with placing your bmi above your life. Which this is interesting point because a lot of people get the lap band to SAVE their life. I also have a hard time believing the whole story. No Dr, even a general surgeon would simply snip off the end and say oh this will work and if they did, I would sue. Right now you need to realize that your body needs time to heal, it is a high risk of infection even sepsis.

Realistic Weight Goal (?)
I would too but that number comes from what drs report their patients lose.

Realistic Weight Goal (?)
My Dr told me most lap band patients lose about 50% of their excess weight. But I think everyone is different and you can lose more depending on how hard and long you work at it. I have lost 85% of my excess weight. Just recognize it takes time but if you stay focus I think you can hit any goal you set.

Crazy Story From Pre Op Class
I have learned that since these conversations are all via text it becomes extremely difficult to pick up on someone's tone of voice so its important to be very clear and remember that. I was mainly scared of waking up and finding out they could not put the lap band in cause my liver was too fatty to lift. I was told that's the main reason for the pre op diet to reduce the fat in your liver so its easier to move around. Even when I woke up after surgery I didn't feel anything different so the first thing I said to nurse was oh please tell me I have lap band now. She laughed and told me yes.

Crazy Story From Pre Op Class
Septic means there is an infection in your entire body, usually in the blood. My dad went septic 3 years ago, it was horrible. In septic your organs begin to shut down and the kidneys are usually the first. Septic shock is extremely dangerous and extremely potent antibiotics must be used ( my dad's was a cocktail of 7 others) usually occurs when a tear in the GI system.

Eating With Large Groups At Big Meals After Lap Band
- Eating With Large Groups At Big Meals After Lap Band
This might sound like a cop out but for people who don't know about my band I usually say one of three things: I am trying to lose weight, my stomach has been bothering me too or I just ate. Like I said cop out. I usually don't have a problem eating big meals (well for me small) with my family. I do sometimes stare longingly at the food I used to be able to eat, but then I think I have 100 lbs and it doesn't seem to matter.- Sodas
My Dr had no problem with soda but did suggest pouring it out into a glass and letting it sit for 15 mins then add ice if needed. But he did say the gas could stretch the pouch out so you could eat more so be careful with that. You should ask your dr, everyone is different.- Has Anyone Experienced This Type Of Pain?
I get the same pain when I get stuck or am too tight or there is swelling. It helps me if I drink more fluids especially hot fluids like tea. The hot pad is good too. But I would call your Dr asap. And unfill is usually exactly what I need.- It Is The Band That Erodes, Not Your Stomach
The only reason my Dr pointed it out was because at the time I had active lupus. He said the same thing that they didn't understand why it has this effect, when other similar diseases don't. He just said that the medical community doesn't understand lupus well, which is something I heard from almost every Dr other than the specialist, but the more they do they may be able to explain it.- It Is The Band That Erodes, Not Your Stomach
I don't know if anyone will find this interesting but my Dr told me that inflammatory diseases like lupus can cause an increase rate if band erosion. - Eating With Large Groups At Big Meals After Lap Band
