    November Band for me

I was banded on Nov. 8th and while being worked on, they discovered a hiatal hernia and fixed that also. I am still sore but starting to do normal daily activities, except for picking up my 27 pound toddler. I have help for that for another week. I am starting to want something to eat but am hanging on. The nurse said it was due to the swelling going down. In 2 days, I can have Carnation Breakfast, yogurt, dairy, etc...and by the week of Thanksgiving, I can have the mushy foods. I have lost 7 pounds and didn't do much pre-op except for the recommended 3 days prior. It seems like everyone gets different instructions. I love reading about all your experiences, it helps. Take Care.
  2. Thanks for the imput, they did discover a hiatal hernia and did the repair at the time of the band. Is that very common? I didn't even know I had the hernia. So far, so good. I am walking a little at a time, several times a day and am starting to feel almost normal again. This is my 4th day being banded. Take care....
  3. I was just wondering how you are doing with the band and all? I was just banded on Nov. 8th and actually they also discovered a hiatal hernia and fixed that, as well. I am still sore but am now just starting to get a little hungry. I reallly didn't want to eat anything til now. And even now, jello is enough. Hot tea works really well in the morning, too. Any thoughts or ideas you have about what has helped you? Thanks...

    LapBand Food Stages Lists Suggestions

I was just banded on Monday, Nov. 8th...but also they found a hiatal hernia and fixed that during the band process. So, I think I may be sore from that procedure more than the lapband. I am also on clear liquids and in fact couldn't get myself to drink anything but water the day after the surgery and caused myself to get dehydrated and kind of out of it. I feel better now and I learned so much over the last month from just reading all of the bander's posts. It was a great help, thanks.
