  1. So, I had a fill on Wednesday of this week. I was fine until Saturday when I had a horrible "stuck" situation. I threw up like 50 times yesterday. It was awful. I am on my period so I know things can be tighter, but all I tried to eat was one bite of yogurt! I am worried about my band. I hope everything is okay with it. I got in for an emergency unfill tomorrow at 8am. I haven't eaten in tow full days and barely had any liquids and I am so weak. This is my second fill and the second time this stuck business has happened. I am very careful and eat slowly---chewing like a mad woman. I'm starting to worry that I can't tolerate fills. Has anyone else heard/had this? Also I am still struggling with gas pain. Any suggestions? Thanks, LB friends!
  2. Hello LB world! I went to see my doctor the last week of February. I haven't been losing weight as quickly as I expected for how little I have been eating. My doctor agreed and decided to do an x ray on my stomach and turns out--- I am full of poop and gas! Like FULL. Up to my breasts. It's gross. She told me what I could do to help, and I did it all. I did suppositiories, laxatives, Miralax in my Water and Activia. I eat plenty of fiber--I just have digestive issues. I know all the stuff she told me to try hasn't worked that well yet. So, I want to try Colonics. My doctor basically said that I can't have a fill until the poop is gone because there is no room in me for the saline. So, I paid nearly 16 thoudsand dollars and my band is not working like the tool it should be. Has anybody tried this? Do you know if it is a safe thing for Lap Banders? Please help!
  3. I miss never being able to have a sandwich... Subway, peanut butter and jelly, a club. I just miss them but I know it is totally worth it. That's not to say that sometimes I don't feel sorry for myself, which is just silly.

    Perfect fill

I was overfilled once before also (I was banded in December 2010). It was my very first fill. It was absolutely TERRIBLE. Something got so badly stuck I had to rush to my doctor (throwing up all the way.) I didn't know what I was suppossed to feel like after a fill, so I made it three days before I couldn't take it anymore. I could barely breathe. I had some saline taken out, but not all. I have been losing weight and am satisfied eating a LOT less than before. Hopefully they will start with less this time, and you will definitely be able to tell what "good" feels like. I go back or another fill soon, but I might not even need it. I'm staying full for like 4 hours on not a lot of food.

    First Fill

I had my first fill on Monday of this week. I did not hurt at all! They deaden the area where they are going to inject the saline. It is really quick and I tried not to look at the needle. My problem was that I was overfilled. So after lots of pain and vomiting, I was back in the doctor's office. The unfill wasn't painful either. I feel much better now. My advice: Don't leave the doctor's office if you feel strange at all. I didn't listen to my body enough. Good luck!

    Is this normal?

I got my first fill Monday afternoon. I feel like it is difficult to eat or drink much of anything. It feels like it takes a full minute or two for whatever I have to get my stomach after every drink or bite. I also kind of feel bubbling in my throat. Did you have any of those feelings? I am worried to try anything. Monday I ate a tiny bit of Soup about 8 hours after my fill. Yesterday I had a bite of applesauce and a cheesestick for lunch. (both barely went down, seemingly) Then, last night I tried to have soup with soft veggies in it and had to switch to just v8. I'm not drinking enough Water either because it just doesn't feel good. I have 3 cc's in a 10 cc band. Is this normal? I would appreciate your thoughts/opinions....

    Is this normal?

You guys were right. I got stuck at lunch today and could barely breathe. I got right in to the doctor, but not before throwing up like 5 times. WORST FEELING EVER. Thanks for letting me know your thoughts. I got unfilled (some, not all) and am feeling a million times better. I'm on liquids for a day then mushies for a day or so. I'm just excited it is going down! Thanks again!

    Only 1 cc a month?

HeatherinCA, I got my first fill Monday afternoon. I feel like it is difficult to eat or drink much of anything. Standard Size Band

I don't know if it is different with certain brands, but typically the standard band holds 10 cc's.
  12. So, today I am having a bad day. My car got broken into last night, I'm exhausted and my weight loss has been at a stand still. So, I got on LBT to get encouraged and I have read so many discouriaging things! I was banded 12/7/10 and have lost 17 pounds. Not great, but a success just the same. I get my first fill Monday and I am ready! I need tro hear some success stories! I have read the words "I just wasted 15,000 dollars" too many times today. Somebody, please tell me a success story! I need it!

    Red Lobster

I had my surgery on 12/7/10 and on 1/2/11 we ate at Reb Lobster. I took small bites and chewed away. I was fine!

I don't know if I'm full or not!

I understand djb.... I had my surgery on December 7th and I did really well controlling my hunger until Christmas. Now I am hungry just like I used to be and I don't have my first fill until 1/24. I have gained a couple pounds back and it is driving me crazy! Ugh.

    Indecision. Need Help.

I went through what you are going through but I am not a low BMI. It is a huge life change. You will never look at food the same way. For me, that's a good thing! I make payments to my band and it is truly an investment. You are definitely in a tough spot. Good luck with your decision!

    Needing Support

I have had people say things like that to me before too. Right before my surgery my sister said "Why don't you try going to the gym?" You can't let anyone's opinion rule your life. You know what is best for you. This is not an easy way out-- AT ALL. It is a life changing event and there is no quick fix to it. It requires sacrifice, self control, and a lifetime of comittment. Maybe you should educate her... Sounds like she doesn't know much about the surgery! Good luck to you. It is an exciting journey. You deserve to be happy!

My update...what happened to this site...and onederland is here!

I think onederland means a weight in the 100's like 199 or less...? That is what I have always thought! Hmmm......

    Can you feel your band?

I got banded last Tuesday and sometimes I think I can feel my port but not so much my band... It is also a very weird feeling.
  21. I am doing better every day! The first couple of days were pretty rough. I had the dreaded shoulder pain and lots of soreness. I am feeling much better---almost back to my old self! I have lost 6 pounds since surgery. I am starting to get hungry now and I want to chew something! How are you?

  22. I am feeling pretty sore and I did have some gas pains but it didn't last long. I hated the feeling of waking up as well and I was DYING of thirst! I had some vegetable juice warmed up earlier and it tasted pretty good to me! I can't wait to start losing! Yay for our new beginning!!

    Nerves are setting in....

So.... I am less than two weeks away from being "banded" and I am starting to get nervous. It is pretty much all I think about. I am supported by a wonderful husband, but my mom and sister have more criticism of my choice than support. I know this is what I want to do (and will do!) but I am so tired of feeling like I have to rationalize it to others. Ugh. I am relly worried about my other family members (that are in the dark) are going to think at Christmas when I can barely eat anything. This is a provate thing for me and I want to keep it that way until I am successful. I hate being fat and I cannot wait any longer to have the Lap Band. I just wish wasn't so nervous. Make me feel better, okay?
  24. My surgery is tomorrow also! I am definitely both excited and nervous! Good luck to both of you!!! I will be thinking and praying for us all. Keep me updated! Side note---how do I get a BMI trackre on my profile?

    December 7th bandsters

I am also getting banded on December 7th! We need to be friends, ladies! My doctor isn't as particular. He says two shakes a day and then one sensible meal. I can only do one shake and two sensible meals. I am a teacher and I get extremely light headed if I do not eat. I am getting really excited but I have some major negativity surrounding me. I hate the negativity because it is making me more nervous. I wish it was Tuesday right now!!! I'm ready for a major life change.
