Congrats!!
6. I think perhaps you are not in the green zone. Sometimes it takes a few fills to get to that point. I was banded 12/9/2010 and I'm just getting to the green zone. I'm not quite there, I should be with a fill next week. I think what you are going through is referred to as bandster hell. You have the band but it doesn't seem to be doing much for you. I have been there. I totally understand. Patience is the key in this situation. Just continue to watch what you eat and exercise. You will be at the right fill level soon enough. Good Luck toyou!
7. Hello fellow bandsters. Lately I have been trying to get back on track with eating and exercising. I can say that I have been successful. I think vacation and preparation for vacation had me in " dont care" mode. Since then I have been back on track. The scale read 234.8 this morning! That is about a 10lb loss post vacation. I have been working out 4-5 times per week and it feels great!! I'm also really trying to focus on my hunger level and how long it takes me to get hungry after eating. I have a fill appointment next week and I think I'm getting pretty close to the green zone. I definitely don't want to be overfilled. Everything pretty much goes down fine, even without me chewing it to mush. I can eat bread, steak, chicken...anything. I can also guzzle water. I do find that I'm tighter in the morning, but other than that, no problems. Right now I have 6cc's in a 10 cc band. I'm thinking maybe .25 would be good, but who knows since I have a delayed reaction to fills at times. I can eat a meal in less than 10 minutes, depending on what it is. What do you guys think? Do I need a fill?
8. Hello all! Checking in at 235.2. Down 1.6lb from last week!
9. IMHO..the ads don't really bother me. I dont pay one cent for this site and it has been tremendously helpful to me in all phases from preop to postop. That being said...I can ignore a couple ads.

Glad you are doing well. Good luck to you!
14. My band seems to tighten during TOM for me. I asked the nurse at the surgeon's office if she had heard of it before and she said no.
15. Thanks for sharing!! Great story!
16. Getting stuck and sliming is so not the business! I ate part of a chicken wing while driving Saturday afternoon. I had just gotten up and was on my way home with my kids (spent the night at my sister's house) I know it sounds crazy but sometimes I forget to chew and eat slowly like I should. I think the reason for that is because I had never gotten stuck or had any bad episodes with the band. (besides some slow moving bread last week) I instantly felt that stuck feeling and it didnt go away after a few minutes like before. The pain kept getting worse. Then the infamous sliming started. I was using a napkin after first to get rid of it, but it came a point that I had to pull over and spit it out. When I got home I laid down and after about an hour, the pain subsided. I never want to go through that again!!! This last fill brought me to 6cc's and my fills usually have a delayed effect. I tighten up about 2 weeks after. I will be more careful from now on!! On another note, I have on a size large skirt and a size large blouse today!!!

Good for you!! I too have an overweight daughter and her seeing my healthier eating habits and commitment to exercise will rub off on her so she can do the same thing!
18. I'm from Goldsboro and my daughter goes to UNCP! It is indeed a small world! Good luck to you!!

You are making some great changes and doing a wonderful job! good luck to you!
20. I was wondering the same thing too so I decided to search the topic. My fills seem to kick in after about 1-2 weeks after. I think that why my doc schedules them out 2-4 weeks.
21. You may just need to take an "off" day. When I overdo it, it makes me not want to continue. Space out your workouts until you get stonger and more fit. I find it helps for me.
22.

A month long vacation!! WOW! Take me with you!!

I have 6cc's in my band right now and I can pretty much eat anything. I have found since my last fill that bread is a no no for me. The cake didnt get stuck...perhaps it was because it was softened up a bit with the turtle tracks ice cream. I'm back on track as of today!!
23. I have not been the best bandster this week...ugh! I have only excercised a total of 40 minutes and I have not been eating the best. I had cake and icecream last night. I know it wasn't the right choice, but lemme tell ya...it was DELICIOUS!! I'm up 7lbs since last week. I know it's just water retention because I havent been THAT bad!! I'm going to zumba tonight and I'm going to walk around the lake tomorrow and Saturday since we have a break in the heat. I'm getting back on track!!
24. lovethenewme.....youre awesome!!
25. sometimes we have to sit back and evaluate what we have been doing thus far. Have you been journaling? This keeps me on track and helps me realize what I'm doing wrong. I was shocked at how much I was eating when I started. myfitnesspal is a wonderul tool for tracking food, exercise, water intake, protein...etc. Great job on starting an exercise routine, sometimes it takes a little while for workout results to kick in. I understand how you feel and I was right there with you a few months ago. I had to look at what I was/wasnt doing and it was eye opening. Good luck to you!!
