  1. I know you want to wait to have your surgery but I just wanted to give you some info on the breast lift for when you do have it done. I had a breast lift with an arm lift 3 1/2 weeks ago and if I worked I could ave gone back in 5 days for sure (as long as your job doesn't require heavy lifting.) As far as hitting the beach or pool my surgeon cleared me for swimming when I went in for my 2 week checkup. I had my tummy tuck in Feb. and I was glad I had it done separately from the breast lift but that's what worked for me and I don't have a problem with anesthesia your plastic surgeon will be a good person to ask about the risk of two surgeries. With each surgery I felt better and better in my own skin so to me it was worth doing it separate.
  2. I started out weighing almost 330 pounds and I now weigh 124 pounds. When I first started working out after being banded I ate about 1000 calories a day And worked out 5 days a week for 2-3 hours and the other 2 days I at least walked 3 miles with my dogs I did fine on 1000 calories my body had plenty of extra fuel and I wanted to tap it. Now that I'm at goal I still work out just as much but I eat around 1500-1600 calories a day since I have depleted my extra fuel
  3. I am so sorry to read that you are having a small problem.... What did the doctor say? After reading your post I have been very careful with my inscisions around my armpit since it seems to tug more in that area. Other then the problem you are having are you happy with your results?
  4. Maybe you could just try the laser on a small area to see if it works that way you know if you want to spend the money and time on it :-) like I said it worked on my back but it was a small area about the size of a half dollar so it only took 30 seconds of pain each time but it took over a year to have it gone plus $1500.
  5. Ill put the tips here since I'm on my iPad I'm having trouble messaging. #1 put anything cooking utensils you use on the counter top like a bowl, plate spoon #2 put any food u will be eating like crackers, jello and so on on the counter top make a special place just for your stuff #3 have a shelf in the fridge waist level cleared just for your stuff #4 put anything that comes in bigger containers into smaller ones like milk , tea, cokes and put that on your shelf #5 buy unscented maxi pads to cover your inscisions it's cheaper than gauze squares plus it adds padding #6 buy button up shirts #7 be prepared to have feelings of what did I do? The inscisions look bad at first and the bruising is ugly but it WILL get better #8 wear your compression garment at all times as long as your doctor says or longer #9 have an alarm clock set for when you take your pain pills and stay on them for at least a full day to stay ahead of the pain of coarse unless your doctor tells you other wise #10 relax and let others care of you for a few days it will speed up your recovery I hope this helps please feel free to ask me any questions I also had a tummy tuck, breast lift and chest wall reduction
  6. How do you post pictures? I would like to show mine
  7. Does your doctor have you wearing a compression garment? Mine said to wear one for 2 weeks to help with the swelling and for me it has. You look great btw and don't be shocked if the bruising goes down to your forearms.
  8. Mederma has helped me plus the fact that I had to wear my compression garment for 3 months. I did have laser removal of a scar on my back and it lightened up a lot but it is painful and you cannot tan the area you have it done on while in treatment plus it's a long and expensive process.
  9. Svm10... You won't pop a stitch With small things like that your arms will let you know how far you can move them just like the tummy tuck when you start to stand up straight but when u r ready I can give you tips that really helped me out.
  10. Svm10...... Yes 2 weeks is plenty of time for recovery. I had mine done with a chest wall reduction and breast lift last Monday and I already have good range of motion and I feel great a little sore but in another week I'll be at 100 percent.
  11. I just had the exact same surgery on Monday with a breast lift! I am so excited for you, you are going to be thrilled! My surgeon didn't require an unfill for me he just told me to make sure and tell anesthesia that I get sick so they pumped me up with anti nausea medication along with the patch behind my ear and some dissolvable tablets for home it worked like a charm. I would try and see if I could go with an unfill but I wouldn't let my weight go up by more then 2 pounds then I would be kicking the door in to get one. Good luck tomorrow it's sooooo worth it!
  12. Shues138, yes absoulutly start documenting now. A good idea would be to buy a spiral notebook or open a special file on your computer that you only use to document your rashes put the date down describe it, what u used to treat it, and how long it took to go away also document any lower back pain due to the hanging skin in the front amd what you do to ease the pain heating pads Tylenol ect. take photos of it as well and post it on your online journal.
  13. These are my before and after tummy tuck photos. As you can see that pre-op there was a lot of excess skin and the port can be seen. Post-op pictures are two weeks out and as you can see the port is no longer visible. My starting weight was 329 lbs. and my day of surgery weight was 129 lbs. Please feel free to ask me any questions and I hope that this post helps you with your decision.
  14. his spirit, I am so sorry for the pain that you are going through right now. I can tell you that for me personally developing a relationship with Jesus Christ gave me the strength I needed to take on the task that now lays before you. I found through him that I had value and it wasn't about what was on the outside (appearance). With Gods guidance I did seek therapy and was put on an anti depressant to help and it did. Getting therapy will help you reset the old tape you play in your head. You are going through a change physically and mentally so it's no wonder you are down Understand that you just had a big surgery and it is very common to get depressed in the first 3 weeks after surgery. Do you have any friends or family that can take care of you for another week since your partner can't? Go see someone and make sure you are comfortable with him or her so you can really open up. God bless you and I am praying for you.
  15. Sherry, no my insurance did not pay for mine my husbands company quit carrying that as an option. I can tell you that when they did they wanted evidence that you needed one meaning documentation. #1 Start going to your doctor for every rash that you have. #2 ask for prescription cream instead of just using an over the counter one insurance will be able to see the script. #3 take photographs of any rash or irritated ares #4 Ask your doctor for a recommendation of a tummy tuck the Dr. will need to write a small letter and will know what to do #5 Make sure that you get a board certified plastic surgeon that deals with insurance they will also send a letter to your insurance #6 get started now most insurance companies want 3 to 6 months worth of documentation. You can call and ask your insurance if it's an option in your policy and what they need from you to get it approved. If they don't cover a full tummy tuck ask if they will cover the skin removal and you would just pay for the muscle tightening . If your insurance covers tummy tucks meeting certain conditions and they deny you, you can always appeal. FYI insurance company differ so make sure you check with them I could only answer with what my insurance wanted when the company had it as an option. Good luck I hope I have helped some.
  16. highland, my surgeon says recovery can take 6-8 weeks I was very active and fit before the surgery and I'm only 2 weeks out from my tummy tuck and I believe it will take every bit of that time. FYI it can take up to a year for all the swelling to be gone but even so with the swelling my tummy ROCKS!!
  17. You look great! I need to post my before and after pictures too. I am only 2 weeks post op but like you, recovery has been much easier then I had thought it would be.
  18. I am so glad your surgery went well! What do you think of your new tummy? I just love mine lol!
  19. How is it lying if you just say thank you to someone who says you look like you have lost weight?
  20. There was a show about Heart Attack Grill I watched it was very interesting. If you weigh over 300 pounds you get to eat free there everyday! They have a scale right up front that they weigh you on and everything. Sad thing is there were two friends who go there everyday for the free food it's a shame.
  21. I prefer to be close to the lower end of the BMI scale. I used to think that there was no way that at 128 pounds I would look healthy and that the BMI scale doesn't fit everybody so I thought that being on the lower end of the overweight category would be fine with me. But when I really thought about why I was settling I realized that I was using "the BMI chart doesn't fit everyone" as an excuse to stay fat. Think about it years ago obesity wasn't all over the place and everyone was happy with the BMI chart clothes were smaller then. Now todays size 6 was yesterdays size 8. So I decided I wasn't going to settle and I went all the way. People tell me a lot that I'm so skinny and that I need to eat something but the funny thing is they are all overweight. Please understand that this is my opinion only that I apply to myself. The most important thing is that YOU are happy with your body and weight no matter what it is. I am only 34 and yes, I did get the deflated look in my face but that was fixed with Botox and fillers and I would take wrinkles over moon face any day.
