  1. I inspect everything I eat for bones, peppercorns, nuts...small piece of god knows what....lol. You name it I am looking for it. Glad you are feeling better...
  2. After a fill My dr has me do liquids for the rest of that day and mushies the next....
  3. It sounds like gas. I was still on liquids at your stage....drs are all different... But at one week post op it took me 10 to 15 minutes to drink a glass of water. And when I first was allowed mushies at 3 weeks it took 20 minutes to eat 1/2 c.
  4. Pain in the shoulder area is most likely gas. Walking is the best remedy. The port is most likely near your belly button or mid tummy area..
  5. If you are keeping down liquids then it doesn't sound like you did and major damage and hopefully the bone has pawed through your band. If it were me I would stay on liquids for the next few meals just to give it time to rest and heal if needed. Glad it wasn't more serious. Just curious..how big was the bone.?
  6. Good.... Dd the Mexico docs give you a post op diet to follow until those local visits?
  7. Without knowing how much Water you drink or how many calories you eat and what your portions measure its hard to know why you aren't losing but your profile says you have lost 37 lbs so that is great. Sometimes the body just stops losing for a few days and you need to just keep doing what you are supposed to be doing. It's frustrating but then one day you wake up and you are down 4 lbs.... It will drive you nuts if you fret about it. But worse if you give in to cravings and the wrong food... You won't see that eventual loss and you will Be back to square one.
  8. I would call your dr and ask... Dill pickles is a far cry from my 2 weeks of Optifast shakes I had to deal with for my 2 week preop diet.... Lol
  9. It depends on the dr. My surgeon will only do fills on patients whom he bands.... But I do know there are others who will take new patients.
  10. Have you arranged follow up with a local physician and nutritionist. If not that should be your first step. I don't know if the foreign drs give you post op instruction but I would think you should still be on liquids this soon after surgery. Can you give us soe more info and maybe we can help?
  11. Glad you were able to undo the bad... But next time when you think you need to eat and it isn't time or you have used up all your calories for the day... Find something else to do that doesn't involve food. As you know the time before restriction is so difficult but you apparently want it bad enough... So just teach yourself to say no. It will get easier.
  12. I would say if you have severe pain or cannot swallow liquid it would be time to call the dr again...before I tried the meat tenderizer ....
  13. I came here over 2 years ago looking for answers, successes, failures....basically like minded people and got hooked... Now it's time to give back because if a fat girl with no regard for nutrition, exercise, health or overal concern about the reprercussions of any of the above can lose weight... Anyone...and I mean anyone can do this as long as they learn to become one with their band.
  14. To answer your question about plastic surgery... Most reputable doctors will not do it until you are 10 lbs within reaching your ideal weight as plastic surgery isn't a way to lose weight....or it shouldn't be anyway. I just paid about 15k in Florida for a tummy tuck, breast lift and breast augmentation. I got quotes for less but wasn't comfortable with those particular drs. My results are posted on my gallery if you want to look. He did an amazing job. And by the way... Removing 4" of excess belly skin and several more inches of breast sag skin weighed less than 2 lbs.
  15. Awesome job! Congrats!!!!
  16. My Dr is free for the first 3- 6 months for self pays and it just went up from $50 to $100 for a fill.
  17. I am 5'9". My Dr said 150 at the start of this journey based on my bone structure and sized 10 feet. I remember being 175 once in the 90s for a minute after a crazy liquid diet.... I was pretty happy there for the short time I enjoyed it so we agreed on 160. I figured that would put me in a size 10/12 which was ok by me... this from the mind of someone who had 77" hips was awesome... Fast forward 24 months later and I am at 157 and 150 is within my sight. I am in a size 8 and 6 is on my radar. Turns out my feet are only a 9 1/2 and my bones arent quite as big as I though they were...
  18. I am so sorry this happened to you.... Was it the Dr who attempted the fill...if not did you speak to the Dr while you were there? Worse case.... just keep on your plan until you can get this resolved... it will make you feel better to continue to lose during all this drama!
  19. You look like you are doing great. I had my tt on Tuesday and seem to be getting stronger each day ... I also had the breast aug at the same time so double the fun. LOL Feel better soon... I am loving the results so far as I am sure you are.
  20. I would think it would be pretty hard to miss the port but I am no Dr.... you could ask her to take it all out and see how much is in there...
  21. Certainly you have a choice.... and thankfully its all yours to make. There are several people on this site with lower BMI when they started...they seem to be very happy about their results. Go with your gut. Just be sure to fully understand what the life of a banded person entails... you will never be able to eat as you do now again.
  22. That hint of power of the band is what made me successfull.... you will do great!
  23. According to the Dr since I am past the female producing stage they should fade very very well. Evidentially the younger you are the more apt they are not to fade as well....
  24. Well I wrestled over posting these pics in my gallery...but they are there and I think they arent any worse then what I would look like on the beach... so have a look if you are interested.... I think they came out AMAZING! Can't wait for the upper swelling to go down.
  25. You are losing so that is a good thing. But if it were me I would track my calories and weigh all the portions... you woul be surprised how those calories add up. and this goes for everything you put in your mouth...solids or liquids. I would even count a breath mint so I didnt go over my calorie count for the day. I know... its drastic...but it sure works!
