Tummy tuck before and after pics
sort of resemble Frankenstein right now... but Dr said the scar should be minimal with in a year since I am on the other side of all those female producing hormones.... I guess there is something to be said for having no collagen. LOL

Tummy tuck before and after pics
I posted tummy tuck before and after in my gallery and hopefully on this blog....... granted its only been less than 48 hours but even with the swelling you get the general idea.... I am not brave enough to post the "girls"... until i can figure out how to cover up the personal parts..... but they look marvelous!

preop diet
No I was scared to death to cheat truth be told.... Lol. But if you did... Just move on and don't do it again. The liquid diet will help you with several things... You will learn you can live without eating solids...you just need nutrition. Food is just the vehicle we use to get it in our bodies. Now you will know its not the only way thus realizing you do not need to eat. Also you will realize you have the will power to get through the liquids needed for post op recovery....depending on your dr it could be several weeks. And lastly you will have a healthy liver for surgery. You don't want your dr not being able to see behind at big fatty liver do you? Best wishes for your success!

Intro-new to site and new band
Welcome !! I hope you find this site to be a great source of motivation, answers to basic question and a fun way to connect with like minded people. Congrats on taking steps to improve your health and quality of life!

Let's set the record straight...
It's so rewarding being able to feel satisfied with results instead of food isn't it? Food is such a fleeting reward... I am just sorry it took me 50 years t figure it out. LOL

Finally have surgery date.....Now really nervous...
I was 377 lbs when I started this journey. I was more nervous about what would happen if I didn't lose the weight.....than about being banded. You will do just fine and in a short time you will be embracing your new life as a bandster!! Congrats

Boots and calves
I have lost 220 lbs....weigh 157 and still have fat ankles and calves. Once I recover from my tummy tuck I have to figure out what will work in the way of exercise.... Boots aren't even on my radar unfortunately....

HAVE ANY OF YOU BANDSTERS EVER HAD A PROBLEM WITH BLOOD CLOTS AFTER SURGERY?
No clots after band surgery.... And had surgery yesterday for tt and breast lift and so far no problems. But I have been out of bed every hour for at least ten minutes walking around the house....the dr said that's the best preventative medicine.

Tummy tuck and breast left on Tuesday 12/18
i am not sure where i got the courage except I just decided I couldn't live looking at the remnants of all that weight.... I want no reminders. Granted the arms and thighs are sill wrinkled but it's really not unbearable...not like the tummy and girls were.

Thanks Mis... I really didn't expect to feel this good so soon. Granted I am not running a marathons or anything but it's just uncomfortable not really painful if that makes sense.
-
Simple math, right?
A few months ago I posted my actual weigh in log.. So I will look for it but suffice to say like Mis there were good months and better months, I never had a bad month and I stuck to my plan like glue. All said and done I have been banded 24 months and I have lost 220 lbs.

OMG EXCITED AND NERVOUS!

New question
My surgery was at 1230p and I was home in my own bed by 8p but I didn't have a hernia repaired so not sure how that will impact the recovery. I did have my husband with me and I needed help getting up and down so make sure you have someone you can trust to be there for you. There was no medical reason for the help... Just more for the support and to help with meds, water...comfort mostly.

On my way to the flat side
I woke up from mine yesterday crying.... I think it was a cross between the anesthesia, the soreness and the fact that I have worked so hard... It just all came flooding out. The nurse and my husband were like...... Ummm are you ok? LOL Wishing you a speedy recovery.

No insurance said my skin removal wasn't medically necessary. I tried to debate it but my plastic surgeon said their response was pretty common. I haven't taken any after pics yet but I will be happy to send when I do. From what I can tell looking past the swelling...it's worth every penny.

Tummy tuck and breast left on Tuesday 12/18
I go for my post op on Friday so will ask how much the skin weighed but I did get on the scale this morning and am up 4 lbs.... I am going to assume that's from the swelling and all the fluids they pumped in me during the 5 hr surgery. I was a little dizzy this morning but I think it was most because of the scale....lol

i am getting my hopes up again.....
Wonderful news.....
