Feeling rather alone and confused....
When I wasn't losing, I just gave up for awhile. I didn't count anything and I didn't exercise for a week. When I went back to my old routine of counting carbs and exercising, I dropped 5 lbs. I recently lost 2 more lbs without even trying. I am now 2 lbs below my goal, which is fine with me. I like having a little wiggle room. I am sure I will not get too thin, because I know how to add back healthy foods without overdoing it.

Good news... and trying to figure out the rest
That's great that you got those tickets. I lived in Chicago and I couldn't get tickets. They told me the waiting list would take years.

Protein Ideas......
Great! That is exactly why I started that page. Everyone likes different things. People should try things out before they get stuck with a bunch of stuff they hate.

FINALLY some relief!
I hope you get better Hope. I miss you!

Spinal after Surgery...???? Huh?
I had mine taken out after surgery. I am glad I had it. I had no pain what so ever from surgery. Talk to the anesthesiologist. He's great, just like everyone else there. He will answer all your questions.

still not convinced with the sleeve .. am confused
Your doctor will prescribe an acid reducer. It's pretty standard to be on it for 6 months after surgery. I rarely burp.

feeling down and doubtful...
The links she has on her profile are great studies that were done on the sleeve. It's nice to be able to click on them and read all sorts of studies and research. It doesn't matter how you feel about her. It's not about her, it's about research on the sleeve done by DOCTORS not by her.

Any US VSG Surgeons w package deals?
The staples are there forever. They are titanium staples and dr. acveves oversews. there is not one person on this board that didn't had a wonderful experience with him and the staff there. I went alone too and I was treated like a queen.

still not convinced with the sleeve .. am confused
Most people are very happy with their new weight loss tool. yes you do have to take an acid reducer for a period of time. You should read as much as you can on here. The board is divided up into sections where you can find answers for everything. Personally, I am able to eat anything I want, just not very much at one time. I can still comfort myself with food if that is what I choose to do.I can pig out on Cookies anytime I choose to. Ice cream is something I have a difficult time with because too much of it will give me diarrhea. I love being at goal weight and not struggling to stay there. The sleeve is the best thing I did for myself and I wish I had done it long before I did.

Planning ahead ?anyone Dr. Aceves Mar 12?
Passports come faster than they say they will. I got mine pretty quickly. I think it was less than 3 weeks.

BM's
Miralax is a great product. I was drinking it every other day until I had my gall bladder out. Having that out caused the opposite problem.

Feeling rather alone and confused....
I never lost weight every single week. Our bodies have to adjust to the new weight. You've lost a lot of weight in a short time. I think you're doing just fine. Count your carbs and if you're eating less than 30 a day, and getting some form of exercise, you will get to your goal weight.

Good news... and trying to figure out the rest
Tell them you have an upset stomach probably from nerves. Order soup and eat it slowly.

Protein Ideas......
Go to the food section and look for a thread called places to order samples. There is a chike website on there. They are now charging 6.95 for Chike samples instead of $3. If I were you, I would order samples from a lot of places. You aren't going to want a big tub of something and end up not liking it.

Where is everyone tonight? Let's talk!

Zoloft anybody?
Lan, I don't think it's just the surgery. You have had a lot of stuff piled on you all at once. It's very sad that your daughter is not being supportive. I would be very upset if my daughter treated me that way. Just know that we are here for you and you are welcome to chat with us any evening you feel up to it. I hope the ent. can figure out why you're having this mucus problem.

Zoloft anybody?
Feel free to send me a private message anytime. I can't remember if they have done tests to make sure all is well with your sleeve. I think it was Vegas Angel who also said she had a lot of mucus right after surgery. She is really good about answering private messages. I can't remember what she did to resolve it. It would seem that something is wrong that they just aren't catching. Do you think you are grieving over not being able to eat as much as you would like?

biotin
The Biotin capsules that I take are 5,000 mg. I finally remembered to look on the bottle. My calcium is low, and I eat cheese and yogurt every day. My vit D. is low and I take vit D every day, but I am increasing it. I agree that you can't get everything you need from food the way we eat with a sleeve.

Zoloft anybody?
Exercise! I learned that it really is true that endorphins make you feel really good. I was on Seoquel for 10 years and had to go off of it because they discovered it caused liver failure. Then I went through every single SSRI on the market after that, trying to find one that did not give me horrible side effects. In the mean time, I started exercising in an effort to lose weight. I noticed that when I left the gym, I felt really good! When I wake up in the morning feeling really anxious, I go to the gym and exercise my brains out. It gets rid of a lot of anxiety. My depression went away, after a several of months of going to the gym on a regular basis, and I finally told the doctor I was giving up on taking one cause I always felt worse from the side effects. Did you have these problems before surgery, or has it all been since you got your sleeve?
