I thought a comparison would be interesting while I was wearing the same outfit!

    Cardio or Strength Training?

Hi all! I’ve heard differing thoughts on what’s more important in the early stages of weight loss surgery. I’ve heard muscle training will help speed metabolism, and I’ve also heard if you do muscle training first it will only turn fat to muscle and you want all the fat to go away and then build muscle. Anyone have any input or advice on this? Thanks so much!

    Recipes...I NEED RECIPES LOL

Good idea! The other place is the blog called "The World According to Eggface". She's a long-time bariatric patient who's been very involved in the bariatric community for many years. AND...she loves cooking. She also has a lot of recipes on her site for all stages.

    Ideal body weight

My program calculates body weight for females as 100 lbs = 5 feet and then + 5 pounds for every inch above 5 feet. I'm 5'6 1/2 so my ideal weight is 132.5. However, they said realistically I should expect to end up 195-235. If you split the difference, it's about 60% of my ideal weight loss that they are projecting. So maybe go based off the above calculation!

    One glass of wine....

Yea true, I was basically wanting to know if anyone else had a small glass a month out of surgery. I haven’t had any complications and I don’t want to start now, I can wait lol. Thanks for the feedback!

No motivation to work out 6 weeks out

Just go do it. You will not be able to do as much yet. I was lifting over an hour before Covid. First time back was 20 minutes...give it a shot but don't try to do too much. Something is better than nothing.

    Cardio or Strength Training?

My program stresses strength training. While cardio is important for your overall health as well the strength training will contribute most to weight loss.

    Last 10 pounds

losing the last 5-10-20 lbs or so is always a BEAR. It took me FOREVER. But we're not the only people it happens to. I distinctly remember sitting at Weight Watchers meetings years ago (way before surgery) rolling my eyes at these normal weight or slightly overweight women bitching and screaming about how hard it was to lose 10 lbs. Now I totally get it!!!

    Vaginal Bleeding

I don't have PCOS and I can set my watch by my cycle, but my cycle came 2 weeks early after Inhad surgery. It sucks, and the cramps were even worse.
