Congratulations on your success. If you always hated shopping because things didn't look good or you didn't know what to buy or look for to try on and now you don't know your size, consider going to Nordstrom. The salespeople there are really good at helping you find things that work for you and their bra sales people will measure you and figure out the best size and type of bra for you. I do not work for Nordstrom, I just found last time I lost a lot of weight I got overwhelmed easily by all the options and Nordstrom was really helpful. Plus, my mom hates shopping and she would only go there for the longest time because of how helpful they are. It's expensive, yes, but you get what you pay for. If that's out of your budget, try Chico's. Their staff is also very helpful, but you have to like their style of clothing!

    Post VSG Regrets?

Two and a half years out, I have no regrets at all. The process has its ups and downs, but at no time have I ever wished I didn't do it. I'm normal-sized for the first time since I was about eight years old. Things that used to be a struggle, I can do without thought now. I got stuck in a middle seat on a five-hour flight and I was REALLY dreading it. But when the time came, it was really no big deal. Sure, I'd rather have a window or aisle, but it wasn't the catastrophe it would have been when I was at my top weight. Because I had been heavy since childhood, I still find surprises every day as I learn to navigate the world in my new body. I even enjoy being able to walk into a room and not stand out because of my size. Maintenance is a learning curve for sure - sometimes I get too relaxed and gain five pounds and then I'll overcorrect and lose eight, LOL. But it's all good and I'm figuring it out.

I'm so sorry this happened to you. I had IBS for years due to medications I was on so, yeah, it's awful when that happens! I hope your innards calm down soon!

Just got my results and it's Mild Sleep Apnea as well. So funny that we are in the same boat. I am a woman, 218 pounds today, 5'5''. I have to stay at 216 until surgery. I'm in Asheville, NC. I have to be in the program for three months so the earliest they can even think about scheduling surgery is 10/29. The doctor thinks I'll be lucky to get it done by the end of the year. I just learned that a lot of people who don't get approved by insurance go to Mexico and I think I will do that if I have to. With plane tickets it ends up being about $4k all together. Paying out of pocket at my hospital would be like $25k.

I was hesitant because I felt bad booking the slot of surgery and cancelling it almost a week before. But my Surgeon's secretary was very understanding when I spoke to her. She suggested same how it'll be difficult to manage both and if anything happens Post Op, it'll be a nightmare managing school and corresponding to professors and fellow colleagues. Plus they have a cancellation list for other surgeries my Surgeon performs so they'll be able to book someone else in my slot. So I am glad I at least spoke to her and took my chance. It all worked out fine. As for diet, I was already on the pre-Op diet. Finished 8 days on it already. Initial few days were difficult. After day 3 or 4, it got easier. I used to get bad cravings in first 3-4 days but now they have subsided. So I am planning to continue on the same rhythm and stick to *high protein low carb* diet till the surgery. I am hoping I'll be little lighter by then. What I was gonna lose after surgery, I am hoping I'll lose without it till my surgery date in Nov. Ad yes stress eating can be challenging. But I was managing fine last few days when I was head down in my readings and liquid diet. So I am hoping the busy lifestyle will help ease the stress eating with the cravings that have subsided. Thank you for your advise, I'll definitely keep it in mind if I stumble. 🤗🤗

I think you need to reset your expectations. You've done MUCH better than most of us. It sounds like you're very successful! stalls are a common "feature" of weight loss. When you hit one, just stay the course and stay off the scale for a few days. As long as you're following your program, they'll eventually break and you'll be on your way again. We've all been there....

I agree that this is not normal. I too have regrets about getting the sleeve, but what you are experiencing sounds like a fixable issue. I would try to seek a second opinion if your surgeon is not willing to help you get an endoscopy scheduled.
