I was given pain meds at the hospital, on arrival, and I had to put a nausea patch on the night before.

    How much are you eating?

Oh wow @ms.sss our stats are super similar! I really appreciate both your input. I had 1/2 a scrambled egg for breakfast today with milk and a pinch of melted cheese. That really filled me up. When I eat refried beans or ricotta bake, I can eat about 1/4 cup without any problems. I just don't want to do things I shouldn't be and stretch my stomach back out. πŸ˜• I'm not even sure if that can happen, but it is a real fear of mine.

I read somewhere (but of course, don't remember where) that the participants were required to film at least one bathroom scene. I also wish there were participants who did not have backgrounds with trauma. Can't we just have some run-of-the-mill people with weight issues.

    No Weight Loss

It is a biological defense against starvation...developed by humans over tens of thousands of years of adapting to poor hunting seasons and bad harvests. It's why you're cold all the time, why you get constipated, why you run out of go, why you can feel cloudy and not quite yourself....your body just shuts down everthing possible to keep you from losing anymore weight because it thinks you're dying of starvation. Lots of critters have the adaptation. Torpor. Brumation. Hibernation. Uban legend has it that sometimes kicking up your calories a little bit and doing more physical activity, getting more sunshine...can help snap your body out of it. In another ten thousand years, maybe our bodies will develop a resistance to the excess calories that are shortening our lifespans.......but for now, they're still more into defending against starvation. If only we could explain it to them. LOL.

    Bad Advice and being honest.

I don't need to be anyones example and guiding light. Only adults here. People need to recognize that eating is neither a crime nor a sin, that you can cheat on your spouse but not on your sleeve or bypass and that eating something one "shouldn't" (back at "shoulding" again, huh?) is nothing that needs to be blown out of proportion.

    Bad Advice and being honest.

I loosened up way too much in my daily carb intake. My dietitian asked me to remain at 90 g or less of carbs but I found myself exceeding that amount frequently. I also got sloppy about what type of carbs to eat. But in my case, I am now paying a price for my sloppiness. I never was diabetic but my A1C and blood glucose have returned to my pre-WLS levels, which were just nearly in the pre-diabetic range and have been creeping up steadily for the past year. So now I have to be extremely strict now -- return to my original diet plan and, in fact, try to stay at about 60 g of carbs or less per day in the hopes of lowering my A1C and blood glucose before I cause myself irreparable harm.

you're actually lucky - a lot of people can't eat any solids at all. The only thing "solid" I could eat was sugar free Jello (which I ate with abandon since it was the only thing I could have that resembled real food). Otherwise, it was no-calorie beverages, broth, and V8/tomato juice (and the last two were limited - I think a cup a day). And 4-5 protein shakes. It was tough..

    Skin removal surgery

I am scheduled for lower body lift and breast lift/augmentation at the end of May. The surgery is expected to take 5-6 hours, which like most surgeons, is the top end of what my surgeon will do in one surgery. I am anticipating pain, and scarring. I have pretty fair skin, so my scars tend to take a very long time to fade from the pink/purple color. Thankfully, my scars won’t be visible in clothes or bathing suits if all goes as planned. And I will have top notch wound care post-op, as my husband is a wound care nurse.😊
