    Medical issue

A colleague of mine had gastric sleeve in February because she had bad knees and could not have knee replacements until she lost the weight. She could barely walk at the time. I don't think they will deny you; you can stil do upper body exercise and some physical activity like walking with proper care for your you knee (brace, walker, crutches, etc).

The head games are hard! Just don’t let them lead to changes in behavior - recognize them for what they are and stay true to the part of your mind that is wise.

My surgeons staff and nutritionist asked me to speak about my journey at next months seminar. I'm so excited. I [emoji16][emoji6][emoji4] Sleeved on April 25, 2018 HW: 258 SW: 238 CW: 210 GW: 165

Is it possible that the insurance denies surgery because of a new knee injury? Somehow I injured my knee and I am a little hesitant to go to the orthopedic out of concern surgery could get denied. Maybe the insurance would say I could not excercise enough and so forth. Maybe I am overthinking this, would not be the first time 🤪

Caffeine can deplete calcium, so if you choose to drink caffeinated espresso/coffee, make sure to take extra calcium. Coffee has a pH of 5 regardless of caffeine content, and stomach acid is between pH 3 and 4, so sip away. You are more likely to get jittery from the caffeine hitting the intestine quickly than getting too much acid from drinking it.

    Getting sleeved tomorrow!

Well, I did it! Made it home today. I ended up staying a day extra in the hospital because my oxygen was low. But I feel so much better now--I am sore, and sleepy, but I feel so much better being home. I was probably the most chicken person in the world for getting VGS. If I can do it, anyone can!

    Pizza!

So I made pizza for dinner and sadly couldn’t eat much (yay!). It is a turkey fest! 1 slice of turkey bacon, 6 slices of turkey pepperoni and 1.5 ounces of ground turkey. 1.5 ounces of cheese, 2 tablespoons of sauce, few mushrooms on a cauliflower crust. 4-5 servings. [emoji3] Protein goals met! Yep!

Just so you know, one shot of espresso actually has less caffeine than a cup of coffee! It's just more concentrated - so if you had 8 oz of espresso it'd have more than 8 oz of coffee, but since you usually get a 1-2oz shot of espresso you're actually getting less caffeine. I believe one shot of espresso=20-40mg whereas a cup of coffee is around 100-140mg. - Former Sbux barista
