    Tomorrow's the day!!!!

I am so excited for you! I can't wait to get where you are now. Some anxiety is normal so just breath through it and imagine all of the successes that await you on the other side. Fill your thoughts with the wonderful people on here who share that this was the best decision for them and for those who have said they wished they would have done this sooner. I'm sure you have worked very hard just to get where you are now! Post in here how you are doing. I, as well as others, can learn from your successes. Best wishes for you and for a speedy recovery. You've got this!!

Yup, the stall before the storm.

That's a lot lost already, congrats. A little gain may come after adding food after a liquid diet for a week. I always go up then down when I get my period, that water weight. Sounds like you're doing a great job.

    Next Step

Hello everyone! I just had my operation on Monday, the 23rd. I found this forum and thought I would share a bit of my history. I learned how out of control my weight had become by accident. My little brother used to save all our cans and recycling so he could offset his allowance. You go to the plant and they weigh your car before and after. You get paid the difference. We unload and go to weigh out. I wanted to grab the receipt from the clerk so I had to step out. The scale dropped massively. The clerk (and myself) were shocked. I had made it up to approx 650lbs. I dropped my brother back off at home and I realized I had to make some changes. Over the years I managed to get down to about 510. I stalled there for a couple years so I decided to opt for the surgery. I got down to 470 as of the date of the surgery. Pain was pretty high, just today getting up easier. Looking forward to getting back into the gym and boxing again. My goal weight is (just an idea in my head, no science) is about 230. Looking forward forward to seeing what the thinner me is like. Good luck to everyone in their progress also! Sent from my Nexus 6P using the BariatricPal App

It's not a dumb question. I had some of the same issues with my insurance. I have a primary and secondary and the primary required me to have a bmi at 35 or more for the last 5 years. Problem is I have not. My secondary insurance does not require me to be at that bmi for that long. The only reason I'm able to get it with having a bmi at 35 is I have sleep apnea, high cholesterol, stress incontinence and bad hips. I think you only need two. I was worried about this too at the beginning as well. I will pray for you. I hope the insurance will approve you.

    Feeling Frustrated...

The scheduler called me back, was able to give me the June 2 date. I may be able to fly my mom in to help me, if she can get the time off. I'm just going to take it one day at a time at this point

    1 week post op

Yayyy 1 week down, feeling lighter and great already. Still on the liquid diet but starting to have tummy cramps here and there. I am not even drinking when the cramps occur, wondering if it's just excess gas or if I should be concerned since the pain is not to bad. Any advice??

    Satisfied with food post op?

I'm 6 weeks out tomorrow, and when I eat I am full and satisfied after 3-8oz, depending on what I had. The very first puree meal was disconcerting because I got full after 3 spoonfuls. I was like, what the heck?! But just now I finished a cup of clam and potato soup (first one of those), so to be sure things get easier. I see where portion control will be necessary long term.
