Anyone else playing the waiting game?!?

Lexapro would have been a better choice. Celexa does nothing for anxiety. Sorry, been a psych nurse almost 20 years. Oh I'm glad you said something because, dont get me wrong I love my PCP, but he acts like he has no idea what will work. I was on Klonopin for a while but my panic attacks got so bad they weren't helping anymore. He has been chasing his tail to find something that works but it's mainly been antidepressants that make it worse. I had Adivan(spelling?) A few years ago and it was as needed and really helped. A months supply lasted me 3 months a lot of the time but that was a different dr lol

    April 2019 Surgeries!

UPDATE: had my first post op appt today. I was sleeved 4/8. Surgery weight was 225, today was 210. Down 15lbs. The body analysis shows that was mainly fluid loss, but doctor said that’s normal. He cleared me to start purées stage Saturday. Never in my life have I ever looked so forward to mashed potatoes or scrambled eggs!! 1 more day of liquid. Water still a struggle. I used to drink 80-100 ounces a day, now 40-50 is about all I can manage on top of the protein shakes, broth and yogurt. My doctor said it will get easier in a couple more weeks when the stomach swelling goes down. Hope you all are doing well on your journey. Feel free to ask me anything! Thanks for all your support!!! 😘

  6. Hey everyone, So I had my surgery yesterday, got the leak test completed and all is well to start my clear liquid diet. My question is, every time I seem to drink something, (I’m only taking very tiny sips) but I get serious like gas burping pain... has anyone had this feeling after surgery? If so, how long did it last? I cant drink as much as I should because of this awkward burping gas I get. Thank you!

It bothers me soooo much lol. They put me on Celexa for anxiety last month but it made it worse.

    February 2019 weight loss buds

I can see it as well Sheri! I’ve also had not many people Make any comments (except mom) but I’m at about 61 lbs lost since Xmas. I’m about to get on a plane to England and Spain for a week holidays and I’ve already told myself I’m just going to enjoy myself. Of course after a 6lbs weight loss two weeks ago and then a 5lbs week last week my scale is on the stubborn number of 301!!!!

You sound exactly like me. Type A...it’s tough. I’ve been on 1mg Klonopin 4x a day for 3 years because I have PTSD and anxiety goes along with that. It helps but I still have to try to learn how to meditate, I’m told that helps. I have no clue how to even start because my brain doesn’t calm or shut down, lol. New skills to learn. Much luck to you. I hope you get something to help with your anxiety. I know how exhausting it is to constantly be anxious and on edge. Hugs Thanks love. I meditate every night while in a hot bubble bath with those bath bombs because those scents tend to help me relax.

Do it! Do it now while it's showing a need. It will save you years of misery and potentially a case of Barrett's! ((hugs))
  13. Was it difficult to have the surgeries covered by your insurance? I am under the impression that insurance might cover it if the extra skin is causing issues. I wish I had insurance that would cover plastics!

    April 2019 Surgeries!

April 4th VSG here, just passed the two-week mark. Surgery date weight was 330, now I'm down to 312 as of this morning (my "official" two week weigh in) and now my clothes are starting to get very loose.

    The Biggest Loser (RANT)

We (husband and I) used to watch this show. I stopped watching when a guy chugged gallons of water to throw a weigh-in; and then the next week he lost the most weight giving himself a "safe" pass. Thought it was pretty crappy of the show to allow cheating like that. But yes, the general premise of the show was horrible and I've read studies that they royally screwed up their metabolism and most didn't and couldn't maintain the weight loss.

How was the drain removal? I am so freaked out by the thought of drains! Do they pull them out slowly? Fast? Do they have to stitch up where they are pulled out from?

That’s awesome!! Mine have faded but the one where they pulled the stomach portion they took out is still hard and you can still see it.

    Pounds lost

8 months out 78 lbs down 9 to go. I “stall” frequently, I try not to stress because I follow the program and it does come off. I upped my workouts and bought a new scale so I’m skipping weighing myself the next week. I just end up getting frustrated. my apologies I just saw this was in the bypass forum, I had VSG.
  23. You too amazing! Congrats!!!

GERD is ramping up so I mentioned it to my Surgeon at latest visit. Discussed meds and final option of conversion. Nope. Rx'd meds but insurance will not cover. Guess who feels like suddenly considering it. 😅
