Best gift my husband gave me

Every pound I lose I tell him and as always he saids, that's good honey, u look great. U know those auto lines they say but u know they really can't tell. Well Saturday he did a double take and said U really is slimming down. Wow u look great. I was so excited....I said about time u said it and meant it. I told him my feelings wasn't hurt but I can tell he really meant it this time.

:smile::wilted_rose::wink2:

Saturday me and the kids went skating with a friend and her kids. We skated from 1:30 to about 4:30. I burned some really good calories. Also I did my workout before I went skating. I said on weekends instead of lying around and watching tv and sleeping all day. I'm going to start doing more active stuff with the kids. Next weekend if its not too cold I will go bike riding.

:heart::heart::heart:

For some reason with the lap band. Some days I can go a long time without eating. Other days I can eat like I haven't been banded. (I can't overeat though but I can eat more) Has anyone experience that? Leave me a comment and let me know.

Congratulations on your weight loss.

The compliment your husband gave you was a 'NSV' (non scale victory) Sometimes those NSV is just what the doctor ordered. Example, compliments from your spouse, fitting into a pair of pants that you have not be able to in years, sitting into a booth in resturant that you use to not be able to get into. I am like you, some days I can go a long time without eating and then other days I can eat like I've not been band.

I think the reason for this is something called "HEAD HUNGER". I think about food and just find myself eating. Especially on the weekend and other times is at night. I really have to fight the tempatation at night time. I work out 4 to 5 times a week. When I get the tempatation to eat when I am not really hunger, I pop in an exercise video and work out for 30 or 40 mins. Once I am finished I sure don't want to think about eating and sabotaging my workout. If I still just want to eat a little something I will eat a sugar free popscile or sugar free fudgescile. It's all about making better food choices. I wish you much success during your journey.

I bet those words from your husband felt great!!! It's one thing for people you don't really care about or friends to say something, but for the most important person in your life to really mean something is 100x better!!!!! Awesome job!

I love the compliment from your husband!!! Any type of unsolicited (and positive) comments like that are good for the heart AND soul. That's awesome that he's noticing, and actually telling you so.

Regarding the band, I know *exactly* what you mean. On the days when I am really busy and not THINKING about food, I can go a really long time without eating.

One thing I've started to pay attention to is the TYPE of hunger I'm feeling. "Head hunger" is real, but the physical hunger is not. I try to pay attention to whether my stomach is actually *growling*, or if I'm just bored or something. Also, sometimes I have an *emotional* need that isn't being met. I pay attention to that, too. I tend to eat when I'm stressed, overwhelmed, sad, angry ... It is at those times when I know that I need to be especially cautious of "head hunger".

I hope this helps! You're doing great - awesome job!!!
