Frustrated by the slowness of feeling full

Hi ........Im Annette:cursing::thumbdown:

I was banded 27 October and 12 weeks on I have been beside myself because I havent felt the restriction of the band. I have tho had a couple of incidents that have caused me to realise that I HAVE the band, however, my focus on how much food I am able to eat has only pushed me into eating probably more than I should or would normally do. After spending some time on the chat room and asking alot of questions I realise that I am not the only one experiencing slow restriciton. The chat room has given me enough encouragement not to turn to the bottle believing that once again Ive made a mistake and I should be more patient to work out with my doctor the optimum fill for my body. Unfortunately my doctor is 2 hours away so frequent visits are not always possible.

Once frustrated to the point of tears and self doubt to now hopeful and full of anticipation on receiving another fill.

I desire to eat only small meals and feel full.

Bring it on!!!!!

From an Aussie.

LAP-BAND Patients

I am in the same boat as you...they keep telling me to be patient. My new fill doctor told me to get in one gram per half your body weight in protein per day and 35 grams of fiber with 32 oz of water a day. It is a struggle to get it down if you're not used to it (and most has to be protein/fiber based liquid) but it helps a lot with feeling full and not hungry. Also, you need to stay away from letting yourself feel bored. If you are always by the kitchen or always bored you are going to eat more.
