The Daily: Dealing with feeling deprived

Went out to eat with the family. I wanted to scarf everything in sight. (Head hunger mixed with stomach hunger) Between the little restriction I have and the low carbs I should stick to..I was starving for food, and starving for freedom to eat what I want...a grr moment. Eventually I'll have to work through this. BTW the starving for food went away very quickly. The band really does resolve that in a few bites, it just doesn't last long.

Eaten

coffee w/cream

4p sliced meat

1 small piece fish

1/2 slice meat loaf

couple bites salad

1/2c ice cream (so bad, and horrid on the sugar...that's my head begging not the tummy)

Either way not going to feel bad about it. I think the guilt over the little things just fuels mini binges, and they are stopping much of my weightloss.

Hi Jen,

It sucks. Feeling hungry all the time(whether head or stomach) sucks. I have been the same weight for the last several days now. I was down to 396 last Friday. Been between 402 abd 406 since. It's frustrating yet somehow I am ok. I have NO RESTRICTION. I am eating what I want combined with eating healthy. I have also been working out at the gym for last week and 1/2 and it has really helped me focus. Until I get a fill, I am not focusing on how much I eat but WHAT I eat, not caring what the scale says(just for now!!). I feel my body getting stronger and it's getting prepared for the tool inside me to start working. No matter what, having the band is a win win situation.

I wish you the best of luck. Tomorrow is another day.

Wow Jen, been there!!!! But I learned three important things about deprivation: First, I'm not going to run out of food, so stop worrying about it. Second, deprivation isn't necessarily a bad thing. And third - skinny people aren't afraid to be hungry sometimes.

You're right - it's a head game. You just have to stop running towards the wrong goalpost  I do know this: it's hard to give all that up, it's been a security blanker for far too long. I also know this: You CAN do this! Tell yourself that every day! It sounds weird, but just like a little kid will eventually belive she is stupid because she hears it every day, you can turn this around with the positive affirmations as well.

You CAN do this! You WILL do this! It's NOT a bad thing!

Go Jen Go!!!

Hiya Michellelei

It has got to be tough without any restriction. I'm glad for your success so far. Sounds like the healthy eating and working out will eventually pay off.

Have a great day :tongue2:
