I'm so irritated with myself!

Well, I've been in Carlsbad this weekend for my son's soccer tournament and I have managed to gain all 8 lbs that I had lost back in 3 days!!! I am not happy right now!!! I'm really hoping it's just water weight because I truly did not eat THAT much.

I was trying so hard too because I wanted to go into my pre-op appointment on Tuesday at my pre-surgery goal of 10 lbs or darn close to it! I've gone back and forth between getting bypass or lap band because I'm so afraid of failing with the band! I really wanted to prove to myself that I can do this!

So as of this afternoon I'm back on liquids, if I gained it back in 3 days maybe I can lose it in 3 days:confused:

I guess I'll have to wait and see.

LAP-BAND Patients

Aww don't beat up on yourself. I did the EXACT same thing. The doc told me I should lose like 10 lbs b4 surgery. So I lost 8 the first week, then I gained every single pound back! But I did manage to cut out fast foods and regular sodas, so I lost inches and my liver really did shrink b4 surgery. (Just banded on 7/15/08) I also went back and forth bw the bypass and the band. I have friends who have done both. My thing with the bypass is that it is sooo invasive. Right now, I just started a new job, moved out from my mom's house, and am raising twin 10 yr olds on my own. No man to help. I couldn't afford to be out of commission for as long as the bypass. I wanted the bypass bc I wanted to lose weight really fast. At 305lbs and 5'10'', I was just tired of being big. But for health's sake, I went with the band.

Don't be afraid of failing. This is your life decision, you can succeed at whatever you put your mind to and the surgery can help. Think about this, if something happens with the band, they can take it off. With the bypass, the complications can be much more severe and it is VERY difficult, almost impossible to reverse a bypass.

You will do fine. Just relax, eat some watermelon, drink some tea, and (if you dare) give yourself and enema. Took my weight right off!

Good luck
