I got my consultation date with Fairfield Bariatrics!

I got my first appointment with the surgeon at Fairfield Bariatrics today. The secretary said that they had verified my insurance and I am covered. :)

My first appointment is on July 3rd 2008 and I cannot wait. I received my benefit package from Oxford Health and it said that as long as the surgeon authorizes the lap band procedure, then it is covered. It also stated that I don't need to see a psychiatrist.

Everything is going really well and faster than I expected. I am a little scared but mostly I am excited. I even got more hours at work so I will have more money.

I told my friends at work and they are all being so supportive. So are my kids.

I am sooooo happy :)!!!!

Welcome Katie!! The Fairfield group is wonderful--you have made an excellent choice. I had my lap band done 1/15 and, like you, have been in pain and barely able to get up n the morning. I am walking more and in less pain now, and wish I could have had this done years ago. I am 57, Mom of 4, grandma of 3 1/2 and a 3 1/2 year survivor of stage 3 ovarian cancer. So I want to make my time here "quality time"!!!!

This is a great forum and you'll get lots of good advice/information here--welcome!!

LAP-BAND Patients

Hi Carol!

Thank you very much Carol for your kind comments.

Congratulations is not sufficient enough to show how amazed I am at your strength....you survived breast cancer and for 3 1/2 years!

My sister just recently lost her husband to cancer that was in his lymph nodes (not sure how to spell it). It was an extremely difficult time for them. We still miss him, he was such a wonderful person. They live in Florida so I never met him face to face but talked to him plenty on the phone and he was a very special man. I cannot imagine what you went through just being diagnosed is terrifying to me. But you got through it and are healthy today. I don't know if you are spiritual and no offense but I can't help but thank God you're still here.

I am soooo happy to meet you and appreciate you taking the time to comment on my blog. I hope to hear from you again soon, and it's nice to share my journey into lap band land with someone as special as you. :biggrin2:

Sincerely,

Katie
