The Beginning

I have just started looking into the lap band as an option. I have come to the conclusion that this is the answer for me. I would like for my insurance to pay for the procedures, but I'm not sure I am willing to wait the 6 months of monitored dieting.

That said, how do I know the right surgeon for me? I have seen one here in town, but I came away with more questions than answers and I didn't feel the screening process was thorough enough. I spoke with him for a total of about 15 mnutes.

I have a consultation with another surgeon in Ocean Springs on 7/16. Their screening process takes around 3 hours!

I'm just trying to find out all the information I can about it. Pre-op, post-op. I am VERY concerned about nutrition issues. I can't seem to find stats on the complications that occur and nobody seems to want tell me these numbers. As an accountant, i'm all about numbers!

I am excited to have found this site and look forward to learning more! Thanks to all of you for your journals and messages!
