OMG!!! I can't belive this is happening!

:rolleyes:Got my tentitive surgery date of 6/15/10!! I still can't believe it and feel crazy happy. It almost feels too good to be true. Had a mini celebration tonight, but right back on track 2morrow. Would like to be down some more and as fit as possible before V-Day!!

Anyone have some pre-surgery advice?

Congrats on getting your date. I always give the same advice.

Stop drinking and eating at the same time now so it isn't so hard to do once you have surgery.

Take tiny bites now, and mentally prepare that your bites will be 1/4 of the size we are used to eating.

Try to prepare mentally for this life changing surgery even thought we think we're ready, there's always something that surprises us.

Enjoy this time. Don't be surprised if you find yourself having "food funerals". I had to remind myself that the post-op diet is just temporary, and at some point, I would be able to have my favorites just in smaller portions.

Order some protein samples for post-op. A lot of us experienced changes in our tastes, and things we liked pre-op were horrible post-op. So, don't stock up on big canisters of protein because you may not be able to tolerate them post-op.

You're gonna do great.

Tiffykins is totally right about your taste, and your body will change as well! I always loved Gladitors from Smoothie King, so that is the protein drinks that I bought. No only did the smell of them make me sick, but they made me sick. Who would have thought it? I started not drinking while eating prior to surgery. I just order a water if I am at a resturant, and then put it in a to go cup when I leave. So good luck, you are making a wonderful decision!

Tiffykins how did u know I was still drinking and eating at the same time??? LOL!

I've been cutting my food portions very small to ensure I'm eating super small bites, but I need to give up those sips of water between bites.

Thanks so much for the tips. I luv the support.
