Anyone Having Trouble With Skin Break Down Under Belly

I had Lapband surgery in August 2011 and have lost 62 pounds and now my lower belly hangs down and the skin under it is red and sore and I tried powder and it irritated it more. Anyone know what to do for the irritation. My skin also tears easy under my breast and in the groin area.Any suggestions on how to help this problem would be appreciated

Having the excess skin removed is usually the only permanent solution. You may want to go into your doctor to make sure you don't have a yeast infection forming between the skin folds. It's very common with extra skin issues.

I had some between the cheeks of my butt. I rubbed it raw doing floor exercise and the lose skin rubbed together causing a bad break down. I also sometimes break down in my belly button. I use a fungul cream and it works well, sorta like the jock itch stuff but a cream. I suggest you go to your doctor, I don't have enough skin hanging over to need surgery but some people if they keep having issues their insurance may pay part or all of the removal. It is a good idea to have these issues recorded.

There is actually a product on this site call InterDry. It puts a dry sheet between the rubbing skin. You can actually order a free sample. Until you can do somthing permenant about the problem , it will keep you from getting rashes. Hope that helps.

Sounds fungal....def try a antifungal powder...not cream as that will keep the moisture in...hope it gets better...FAST!

I agree with other posters, try an anti-fungal powder. Wash with soap and pat dry, then load up on the powder, like Lotrimin or Desenex. (or any powder that says it's for athletes foot) I had the same issues under my breasts and belly fold, if you use the powder consistently it should help.
