First Month...nailed It!

It's been a month today since my surgery, so I thought I'd add a quick update.

  • The first week was HARD, lots of pain and discomfort
  • Week two was a bit better, but still painful and had major gas pain on my shoulders
  • Third week, the gas pain started to taper off, had very little energy
  • Week four, less pain but have started having the "pulling" feeling around the band area, still tire easily and have little energy

Total Lbs. gone for ever=18

Would I do it again? yes!

What I would do differently? seriously do a pre-op diet. It wasn't required for me.

I'm looking forward to feeling more like myself in the next few weeks, I feel drained by mid-day, I also wish the swelling in my stomach would go down already...baby steps, I know...I know.

Sounds like you're starting to get the hamg of it all. Congrats on the 18 lbs. I can't wait to be banded. Just did pre-op labs, chest x-ray, and ekg, last weigh in in the a.m. Keep up the good work sissy12...........;)

Sweet...I am set for the 31st. Had my labs done yesterday and started the liquid diet, too. Not a huge fan of that, but I am keeping my eyes on the prize!

We can do this, right??? And be our best selves. Forever!

I did almost two weeks of liquids post-op. Straining regular low-sodium soups helped, I was so tired of Broths. Also, as I'm sure you've read here already, Popsicles are wonderfully yummy when all you can have are liquids.

We WILL do this Kim!!

    • I’ve used my Xbox for exercise games too and it can be pretty motivating, especially on days when I don’t want to leave the house. Kinect games really do make you move, and after a session with kickboxing or dancing, I always feel like I’ve actually gotten a solid workout. The controller-free setup feels way more natural for workouts than anything I tried on the Wii. Zumba is fun but definitely takes a little time to get the moves right. Lately, when I’m not working out, I spend time trading CS2 skins and finding new guides on this link. There’s a lot of interesting tips if you’re into games outside of fitness too.
    • I'm literally almost crying reading this. Mostly because I'mon this pre-op diet and these last two days have been difficult... but also because I needed this! Thank you! Congrats! And a BIG congrats on quitting smoking a second time! It was hard enough to do it once... So - when I say BIG congrats... I mean BIIIIIG congrats! ❤️
