Day One-Meeting The Surgeon Today

I meet with the surgeon today, 2 1/2 hours from now to be exact, not that I'm anxious or anything ;).

 

How do I feel? mostly excited, with a bit of "am I really doing this???" here and there.

 

I feel as if I have been researching for years, but I've only been serious about it since a month ago.

At first I thought I would have the Gastric Sleeve, very drastic yes, but I felt like I had to have something drastic to get and keep control.

The more I read about the band, the more I saw it as the one for me...so here I am.

 

Mentally I am ready to have surgery tomorrow, but I think physically I need to get prepared and take the time the surgeon will probably suggest.

 

I can't imagine what it will be like to be off the 5 meds. I take to NOT control diabetes, I think that will be amazingly freeing.

I'm still working towards getting off of my meds but that is exactly how I felt. I'm taking all of these meds and they're NOT controling my diabetes. It will get better, you will feel much better.

Thanks Alicia, I will consider myself successful if I can just get off my meds. or at least most of them.

I like your attitude sissy! This is about your HEALTH.... not your looks! You will see results for your diabetes pretty fast. But you will still need to keep your blood sugars under control even after the band. Remember... you still have a mouth and a stomach! That won't change! So stay focused on eating the right things.

You will do just fine!

      Xbox And Exercise - Kickboxing

      I’ve used my Xbox for exercise games too and it can be pretty motivating, especially on days when I don’t want to leave the house. Kinect games really do make you move, and after a session with kickboxing or dancing, I always feel like I’ve actually gotten a solid workout. The controller-free setup feels way more natural for workouts than anything I tried on the Wii. Zumba is fun but definitely takes a little time to get the moves right. Lately, when I’m not working out, I spend time trading CS2 skins and finding new guides on this link. There’s a lot of interesting tips if you’re into games outside of fitness too.

      I'm literally almost crying reading this. Mostly because I'mon this pre-op diet and these last two days have been difficult... but also because I needed this! Thank you! Congrats! And a BIG congrats on quitting smoking a second time! It was hard enough to do it once... So - when I say BIG congrats... I mean BIIIIIG congrats! ❤️
