Ok eveyone can tell im losing weight. I know for a fact im losing tons of inches and have lost a total of 17 pounds ONLY since my surgery on December 1st ...I have only had 2 fills, I have a little over 4cc in my 10cc band. I try and walk on my lunch breaks, since I have a 1 and a 2 year old at home and I work full time.

I have not had sodas or fried foods, I eat m&m's ONLY around that time of month or i will kill someone! i dont eat nearly as much food as i did before the band..... For example I had a protein shake in the morning and a bowl of soup for lunch with a salad and i most of it, but there was still some soup and salad left! When I got home I was not hungry but I had some popcorn Thats it!

I have noticed my hair getting thinner.....I do take my vitamin EVERYDAY.....NO WEIGHT GAIN ....

I asked my office for more fluid but they only give 1cc per visit ......SAD SAD SAD .....BOO HOO

Are you getting all of your daily alloted protein? Weight loss witht the band works better if you make sure you get from60-70 gms of protein a day, a shake for breakfast, soup and salad for lunch and popcorn for breakfast is not well balanced and you hair will fall out if you do not eat protein. Sorry don't mean to preach but first food to reach for every meal should be protein and if there is room left than the veggies and fruits and starches. Remember the band can only do half the work the other part is changing our behavior to making healthy choices and this is the hardest part for all of us. Good Luck.

I agree, it sounds like you need more protein. Also even though you aren't feeling hungry doesn't mean you shouldn't eat. Just plan your meals for the day and the times that you should eat them. The thing about the band is that in addition to not being able to eat as much you shouldn't be getting hungry between meals which it sounds like is happening for you since you weren't hungry in the evening. You should shoot to get the 60-70g of protein a much as possible also I was told to stay around 800-1000 calories a day. It might be useful to use a program like my fitness pal to help you keep track, Also you don't want to fall in the trap of eating too little because you can. Your body can start to hold onto fat if you don't get enough calories in

@ Bert, jitters can be a number of things, but low blood sugar comes to mind first. When you eat protein it takes your body longer to break them down than carbohydrates and your body can use these foods for fuel. If we eat foods that are simple carbohydrates, chips, crackers, popcorn, bread etc our bodies break these down faster and we get hungery again sooner than we should. Even though we have the band to help curb our hunger and reduce our intake we still have to think about what where eating and strive to eat 3 well balanced meals a day and if we do snack we should make the snack a protein not a carbohydrate, nuts, cheese, deli meats, beef jerky, peanut butter, etc. If we can eat these types of snacks in 1oo cals or less they will help keep us from straving and eating the other types of foods. Unfortunately even though the band is a big help, we all still have a lot of bad nutrition behaviors to unlearn, I agree with above statement about tracking what we eat, I track all my intake on myfitnesspal.com. It helps me but don't get caught up in the number of pounds it says you should loss. Use it to make sure you are eating what you should.

Thank you, I track my foods on mylapbandjourney and it looks like I havent been getting enough proteins even with snack, yeah one of the bad (was it really bad at the time) is only eating 3 times a day and I had just broken away from having snacks. so it was just water in between. My snacks were usually nuts or trailmix or seesame sticks. or veggies. so now to go back to that, I think whats happened is I did this to my body but my mind doesn't know it yet, and they still arent in sync. Yesterday was better as I took in my food slower, took sips, SIPS and I had 5 of the small nutter butter cookies snack I was ok till dinner when I tried a turkey hotdog, and ranch beans, the beans were ok, but I think the hotdog was too chewy. I should of drank a protein drink. Yeah I stand on the scale and it doesn't move but I can tell I melting away. I don't have any fills yet. Thanks for the advise.

17 pounds is amazing and it is not going to come back! You are only 11 weeks out and you are doing great! Keep doing what you are doing and be patient and kind to yourself.

hey sexymomma. sometimes i'm "getting sad" too. like a lot of other people i thought this journey would be easier than it has been. i was banded the day before you and so far i have lost a little over 20 lbs. this frustrates me. it is going so slllllllllooooww. like you, i don't have a lot in my band. i have had 2 fills and have 2cc in my 14cc band. i feel so behind other that were banded at the same time i was. i know i could do better with food choices, but i still feel i'm eating way less than i was before. ugh i know i need to stay under 1200 cal but this is difficult for me :( i have so many bad habits i need to change!

try a snack of string cheese or maybe almonds instead of popcorn... more protein and satisfies that kind of salty craving. You need more protein to keep up with two little kids! That would be enough to make my hair thinner. :-)
