2 Pounds In One Day??

Okay so I know what I'm about to write is going to sound completely ridiculous. Please, no lectures. I weigh myself every day. I KNOW I SHOULDN'T! I do it mainly so I can log it into myfitnesspal. Anyways, I weigh myself every morning, the same time, and before I eat anything. Yesterday morning, I weighed 217, this morning I weigh 219. Oh and I definitely use the same scale! Also, I stayed under 900 calories yesterday and I did not eat junk. However, yesterday was also my first day off from the gym after 4 days straight. I'm wondering if that's why I gained? If so, that's completely ridiculous. It's a little discouraging, but I know that's part of the territory when you weigh yourself every day. I usually see a pound fluctuation from day to day, but never TWO pounds! I was shocked! I just don't know how that could be. I'm hoping I'll be back down tomorrow. Oh well! Just had to write out my frustration! Is this normal for anyone else? To see more than a pound of daily fluctuation? Just curious!

This has happened to me on numerous occasions. I think I am doing really well, and lo and behold, the scale jumps a couple of pounds up from the previous day. It just happens some times. Don't forget, your body is getting used to the new habits you are forming and sometimes will rebell against not getting all the foods you were feeding it before.

As for weighing in...I weigh every morning because that is the one incentive that really works for me. When I see the scale moving backwards, I am happy for the day, if I see it has stayed the same or moved up, ugh, I make a new committment to losing those pounds. I don't think missing one day at the gym will set you back.

Hang in there. Just keep following the rules. It is tough for us bandsters at times. (I just keep thinking of the end when I shed all the excess poundage...TUMMY TUCK, TUMMY TUCK, TUMMY TUCK)

Don't worry, there are a lot of reasons this could happen that are perfectly fine and dont signal regaining the weight. If your salt the day before was more than you have had or you had a little less water than usual to flush everything or your a little constipated or pre-menstrual.... You get the idea. Good Luck.

Sounds like muscle mass to me. 4 straight days of work-out is probably not the best thing. Your muscle bulks up, so the weight appears as it if it's fat but it's muscle. Give your body/muscle time to rest after 2 maybe 3 days of work out max. Your poor muscles need a massage to relax and release and you should be back up and running in a day of good rest.

Good luck!

I'm not banded yet, but I can tell you that two pounds is definitely not unusual for me. I have back issues that cause lots of swelling, and I can gain or lose up to five pounds overnight. Don't be too worried about it, there are so many things that can cause your weight to fluctuate that you'll drive yourself crazy trying to figure out what it is. I don't worry about it anymore unless it continues to go up and not back down. You're doing great, though!
