LAP-BAND Patients

I know it happens but mine still functions but is tilted and I can only have fills under fluroscopy. They tried an unfill in the office and it did not go well. Has your surgeon said the port is defective?

Yes I had to have it removed and get a new one. I have never heard of this before, so I thought I would ask.

I don't know if it was a defective port, but I also had to get mine removed. my band slipped and was not able to eat for a couple of weeks. I was dehydrated and lost tons of weight. The Dr. Finally said that I had to get it removed. This happened back 11/4/10 and believe it or not. I will be getting it reinstalled 11/17/11 a year later.. it sucks becasue i lost tons of weight and back to where I first started : ( i try to eat well and excersice.. and nothing the weight still keeps on to creap up..

wish me luck and hopt this is the right decision that i am making .. AGAIN....

LAP-BAND Patients

hi hun...

7 months post op, I had to have a port revision s my port was in a bad spot causing me alot of discomfort, then they figured out that it had also flipped, and gotten a kink in the tubing... They went in through an original scar and gave me a new port and tubing, and moved the port to a spot alot less likely to cause me pain, and thus far it has worked.... Good luck!!!
