Confused but want to lose weight!

Well, this is my first blog never blogged before! I had my Lap-Band surgery March 26, 2010. I didnt have any problems and everytime I went for a fill I was glad to get it I actually wanted it tighter because I felt like I could still eat alot. well, well, well, a year later I cant keep ANYTHING DOWN!!! Everything I eat and drink (including water) I throw back up!! I havent told my doctor..... why??? because Im finally losing the weight. I cant eat late at night because when I lay down it feels like I need to burp or spit-up. I havent lost very much within the year Im just now showing progress. HAve anybody else have or had these problems??

Sounds like you're band is too tight now -- you should feel restriction but still be able to drink and eat SLOWLY. I think there is a happy medium where you feel restricted but can still eat the very small portions. Also stay away from breads and rice, etc. as they always cause a backup. You can try going back to smoothies for a while until the band settles -- this has worked for me after a fill.

Too tight. You need an unfill or you're gonna do some damage to your esophagus.

Thank You Bardy and I think thats a great idea to start with smoothies I will see how that works out.

Reverie, I do think my band maybe to tight and I may need to take into consideration about the damage it can cause Thank You also!

I was like that too. I didn't lose or gain for months, then I got tighter and started losing. I liked losing the weight. But the constant of the food coming back up caused my band to slip. You don't want that to happen. Tell your Dr. It's better to have an unfill now, and let your stomach heal, than to have to have revision. Call your Doctor.
